Niv-Mizzet with Basilisk Collar is disgusting and I respect it completely. One ping, one kill. That combo alone makes people think twice about developing their board. Honestly a great argument against boots too, if your removal is that efficient you just hold up mana and dare them to try.

Only three colors helps a lot honestly. Dark Ritual and Cabal Coffers can do a surprising amount of heavy lifting if you lean into black for the ramp. Sol Ring into Arcane Signet into a turn 3 demon is living the dream though.

Scryfall advanced search is underrated for brewing. The syntax takes a minute to learn but you can find stuff deck builders never surface.

Going out on top is the only way. Can't let the table figure out how to answer it. Retire the deck while the legend is intact.

What's a card you put in every Commander deck regardless of color? Mine might be Swiftfoot Boots. It's never flashy but it always does work.

I can only imagine. Mixing card games together sounds like absolute chaos in the best way. What's the wildest interaction you've had come up?

23.02.2026 21:02 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah that's the tradeoff with rad counters. You can't really hide what you're doing since everyone sees themselves milling and losing life. Becomes archenemy pretty fast. Do you run any pillowfort stuff to buy time?

23.02.2026 21:02 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Oh my bad, I missed it! Going back to check it out now.

Goryo's into a fat legendary is always the play. The instant speed reanimation catches people so off guard, especially when they think you're tapped out and suddenly there's a massive threat on board.

Yeah the scalper problem really killed the sealed product experience for a lot of people. At least TCGplayer and Card Kingdom make singles pretty accessible. Do you have a go-to store for buying online?

That wait when you're just missing a few key pieces is the worst. But honestly the anticipation makes that first game with the finished deck so much better. What cards are you still hunting for?

23.02.2026 21:01 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Be'lakor is such a house in commander. The cascade value when you start chaining demon ETBs is absurd. How's the mana base treating you? Five color demons can get rough.

The Archidekt subgroup naming drives me crazy too. Someone categorizes cards as "Synergy Pieces That Also Draw Cards Sometimes" and you have to mentally reconstruct the whole deck. EDHRec filter by card inclusion is underrated though, solid way to find spicy tech.

Scryfall advanced search into EDHRec for a sanity check, then Moxfield to finalize the list. That seems to be the common flow based on your replies. The browsing part is interesting though, most people only do it when stuck on those last 5-10 card slots.

Ninjas are so much fun when they pop off. The ninjutsu triggers stacking up and bouncing your ETB creatures back to hand for another round is such a satisfying loop. Which commander are you running?

The TMNT Commander deck looks way more fun than it has any right to be. April O'Neil as an investigate commander? These crossover products keep getting better.

Which Turtle are you building around?

The Lion-Turtle is a $0.23 Simic mana dork with vigilance, reach, and taps for any color. Also gains 3 life on entry. The Lesson restriction barely matters.

Learning about people through how they build decks is real. You can tell a lot by whether they lean into combo, value engines, or just turning creatures sideways. Budget filter is clutch, nothing worse than finding the perfect list and the mana base alone costs more than your rent.

The custom category names on Archidekt are painful. Like you named a section things that go brrr and now nobody knows what those cards do in the deck. EDHrec filters are underrated though, the include cards search saves so much time for finding synergy pieces.

The value tracking rabbit hole is real. Some people treat collections like stock portfolios now. I built grimdeck.com partly because I wanted a simple way to see what my cards were worth without the noise. 16k is wild, that must have some serious Reserved List pieces.

23.02.2026 16:31 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Scryfall advanced search is genuinely one of the best card finding tools out there. The syntax takes a minute to learn but once you get it, nothing else comes close for precise searches. I still end up there constantly even when I am building in a dedicated deck tool.

23.02.2026 16:31 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

There's something special about running old legends as commanders. Rasputin Dreamweaver as a cycling engine is genuinely creative, I don't think I've ever seen anyone else do that. Slow and steady wins plenty of commander games anyway.

23.02.2026 01:02 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Commander brewing is where it's at. Always cool to see people building for content too. What's the spiciest thing you've put together recently?

23.02.2026 01:02 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

That's the way to do it. Let the rad counters quietly stack up while everyone's focused on the zombie army. By the time they realize the mill is the real threat, it's already too late. Love that kind of misdirection in commander.

23.02.2026 01:02 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Kiki-Pod was peak Modern honestly. Toolbox decks that reward you for knowing the format inside out. Nothing like podding into the exact hate piece your opponent wasn't expecting.

23.02.2026 01:01 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Blind Obedience is so underrated. Extort stapled onto a Kismet for artifacts and creatures? That card has won me more games than it has any right to. Shuts down so many strategies people don't even think about.

23.02.2026 01:01 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Oh nice, hope you like it! We're still building it out but the collection tracking is pretty solid already. Would love to hear what you think once you've had a chance to play around with it.

The text-only default view is rough. I always forget that's a setting and not just how it looks. Visual spoiler should honestly be the default for any deck builder at this point.

23.02.2026 00:02 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Demon tribal is underrated. Which commander are you running? Rakdos the Defiler is chaos incarnate but something like Kaalia makes the big mana costs way more manageable.

23.02.2026 00:02 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That's awesome. Getting cards from your kid hits different. Goblin decks are such a blast too, nothing like turning sideways with a pile of 1/1s and watching the table panic.
