Nothing here can be blamed on MON and Maloney. The club needs to fix this because expecting the coaching and management team to do this properly, when there are two games a week to prep for, is ridiculous.

We’ll see how the others develop. That said, there *is* a pressing need to strengthen in the middle and centre back. Araujo has hit the ground running because he is an experienced pro. It’s going to take longer for the others to make a difference… but we don’t have time to bed them in.

Agree. Araujo already slotted in beautifully and strengthening the team. I’d sign him permanently in a heartbeat. The Big C looks great. Love the way he was interacting with the team, indicating where he wants the ball and feeding back when it was right. Again, permanent deal for him.

I think there’s a lot of “wait and see” with these new signings. None seem to be the established pros the fans hoped for.

On loan? You loan established players not fringe youth team lads.

Was thinking exactly the same. We went from having it entirely in our own hands with games coming up vrs both our rivals, which would’ve put us clear - and without having to win every game - just not getting beaten.

In any other window, you’d be happy with the club bringing in these two. They’ve been solid so far and did well today.

But we still need so, so much more all across the pitch.

There are moments when he holds it in a tight spot with two opponents pressing. He does have that in his toolkit but it’s the lack of show that concerns me. I just don’t think he has it in him.

He shows good feet *at times*. He hits a beautiful set piece *at times*. He’s capable of a well-timed tackle *at times*. But to me, he lacks the relentless mindset needed to be a top pro. It feels like he hides. Not sure how you develop that.

We need another goal. Goal difference may prove decisive in this title race. Got to keep up with Hearts.

Would be interested to see how many passes Engels receives during the game and compare to similar in that position in the league. Because it *looks* like he never shows for it so the ball ends up going back.

Is it him not showing for it or is he being marked out by the opposing system?
