Ontario Court SLAPPs down “groomer” slur: drag performers can continue with defamation claim

Ontario’s Superior Court has ruled that, if you smear drag performers as “groomers”, you can be sued in defamation.

I was taught that this is not proper etiquette, but the custom of robing at the courthouse seems increasingly to be honoured in the breach.

FWIW, I’m still a don’t-put-on-your-pads-until-you’re-at-the-arena kind of barrister.
