And this is exactly why I am bothered by parents and close friends who don't want to know why you left the church.

They already made the decision about who you are.

I am:
1. Guessing (hoping?) this is not widespread and just part of local mormon culture where she grew up in Brazil.

2. Laughing with her because she can't believe she heard that and was just like "Yup, the math is mathing. Makes sense to me"

So my wife just told me when she was part of the Young Women, around 15 y/o, a lady from leadership told her the real reason why you're not supposed to show your porn shoulders and knees...

Haven't hit the devil's lettuce since the week b4 the election, so now I have accumulated political angst, bad news about my Greencard process and stress from a tough week at work...

Tonight's gonna be lit.

I never liked introductions so I'll keep it brief:

I'm an exmormon who lived about a decade in the US and is now waiting his greencard approval somewhere in south america. I love running, programming, reading, and singing.

I'm AuDHD. I mostly talk about (ex)mormonism, philosophy, psychology, etc.

People on the other app are saying that engagement here is way better.
Problem is, these days I don't have the energy to think of something clever to say here lol

All kinds of mixed feelings about this, but one thing is for sure...I don't want to be in a place were she is a second class citizen. We already felt like 2nd class citizen sometimes while living there for a decade, and I'm not about to take my family there again if it's gonna be even worse.

She never really followed US politics that closely as she never felt "american enough". I just told her that if she feels the US is not a safe place for her as a women anymore then I am fine staying in a "3rd world country".

For those of you who didn't know me on the other app, you might not know this:

I'm currently awaiting a green card. Just moved out of the US exactly a year ago. My wife and kid were hopeful about moving back.

So the news is: I just debriefed my wife about the current political landscape in the US.

I know for a couple of weeks i got like 100 followers that were all porn bots. And lost a few who did not unfollowed me voluntarily.

Well here we are

Many different countries in South America. Not decided where we'll stay the longest. But for sure Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, Chile and maybe Argentina!

I'll be attempting the digital nomad thing for a year or two while my green card is being processed. At first it will be a couple of countries in South America.

The type of freedom where the livelihood and choices of REAL, actual people, are prioritized. Instead of prioritizing laws and made-up rules that are there only for the purpose of pleasing things/entities that could or could not (most likely not) be real.

This is my last 4th of July in America for a while. I hope when I come back in a few years I find a land of the truly free. The type of freedom where people don't try to impose their "freedom of belief" into other people's bodies, identities, and local legislation.

Remember the Ensign picture of the kid painting himself into a corner? That's what the church has done these past decades...for them to start doing better in any sort of meaningful way is gonna take a long time of waiting for that paint to dry.

Here's your reminder to avoid doing leg day on the second floor. Now I am hungry but don't wanna go down the stairs and tempt death.

Developing for accessibility is not that hard, but somehow tech companies don't seem to care enough (including the ones I've worked for).

Someone in my family with OCD told me once that the song goes away if he finishes the song from beginning to end. I imagine you have tried this, but I thought I'd mention it.
