These aren't "just" lyrics. This is a strangely contemporary epic poem on a theological pandora's box - a cursed virgin birth to evil, the mother's burden of killing the child, and the cruelty of being damned along with her to save mankind.

Music and memory is a wild thing. Just remembered Edge of Sanity's Crimson II from 2003, one of my favorites at the time that I somehow just forgot about for 20 fucking years. Still think it's one of the greatest metal albums ever made. I would love a show or an anime based on this concept album.
