Half meant as a joke but honestly I could never understand this mindset of enjoying fandom more than a piece of art itself, even if I only ever interacted with the best people imaginable. It's just a completely different priority.

Had another intrusive thought, since that book with the witch cover has mortis circling an X over it, then we get the song title "Crucifix X" where Uika basically does the biggest self report ever by making the cross gesture across her body as devil wings sprout, she announces she's the witch/devil

This obsession of mine is miserable, this series has made me NOT ok and I wouldn't have it any other way, if you see this thread and got something fun out of it like I did thinking too hard on the themes and symbolism, that would make me happy, Welcome to Ave Mujica's world.

-This series has truly opened my eyes to what's possible in the girls band/idol genre with breathtaking direction and narrative cohesion that is layered upon itself. I truly feel like I've experienced 50+ episodes worth of context given how dense and intentional the writing is.

13.03.2025 02:53 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

-The sun and moon, heaven and hell, being "lost" vs being "alone", how MyGO!!!!! has its members push through their faults and misunderstandings whereas Ave Mujica is about wearing masks to keep one's sense of self together. Whether this thread ends up being somewhat accurate or not-

If you know the tale of Tanabata, you'd recall that Hikoboshi and Orihime can't meet when it rains (Sakiko breaks up with Crychic on a rainy day), there's a lot more I could ramble about to do with the duality and parallels between MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica-

13.03.2025 02:49 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

-The "three stars" going off my earlier readings are both Uikas and Sakiko, (I originally thought it was referring to Tomori here, that could still be the case given how she parallels Uika with her lyrics and visual representation of those feelings)

13.03.2025 02:46 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

In general there's a TONNE of religious/mythological symbolism steeped in to this series that communicates something about the band members, there's the stargazing framing device that tells the tale of Tanabata and mentions a "summer triangle" that's formed when three stars are connected with lines-

What all these motfis mean in a tangible context is that Uika was ostracised from the Togawa family similar to Sakiko's father because she was a "bad omen" that brought misfortune (we still don't know yet what illness Sakiko's mother had)

Returning to the witch idea for a moment, in episode 6 at 4:53 there's a scene of Mortis circling a red X over a book with a cover of a witch, this is one of the things that tipped me off on this whole connection to the visuals in episode 1's performance that bear resemblance to witch hunts

13.03.2025 02:36 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

IF you buy in to the dead twin theory, I believe you may be able to assume that the Uika in the flashbacks isn't "our" Uika and that's why there's inconsistencies for example in the scene about who invited who to go bug hunting, there's this sense of an unreliable narrator in the story

13.03.2025 02:33 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

-I think maybe Uika was able to manage her psychological condition before Ave Mujica existed but became unable to function once it was disbanded, like the other members, that's why she's fracturing now

13.03.2025 02:31 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Going back to the first post in this thread, regarding Uika masquerading as Sakiko, I believe this would tie in to the fan theory that Uika has a dead twin or some other reason that's related to her imposter syndrome and breakdowns-

13.03.2025 02:27 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

-Uika is obsessed with Sakiko to the point of having psychotic episodes where she hallucinates physically harming people and she tries to monopolize Sakaki by locking her away in a bird cage not dissimilar to Sakiko's father and grandfather

13.03.2025 02:23 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The lyrics "KillKiss" are followed by variations of a Hebrew name Judy/Jude/Juda which translates to "praised" (possibly referring to Sakiko's status as a "divine child" who was praised for her gift in her upbringing. It's already established that the lyrics of Ave Mujica are Uika's inner thoughts-

This is an idea I got from twitter user @lofttmoon x.com/lofttmoon/st...
What else is interesting about this is the part about Sakiko's name + Mizuho's translating to "mean "auspiciousness", specifically, the appearance of legendary creatures, often in reference to the birth of a divine child"

Historically, witch hunts were carried out by the church, they're linked to misfortune, illness, plagues, the devil, etc. Why does any of this matter? We know Sakiko's mother passed away due to illness and the Togawa Family is heavily linked to religion and myth.

People cheering for the guillotine executions? A rat that might be referring to plagues? Corpse faces? 4th image looks to me like souls of the deceased with their deformed hands reaching up out of hell.

These visuals all give me very "witch hunt" and "bad omen" vibes, there's what looks to be people with demon horns and we know that Uika is associated with devil imagery that's in line with her role in the story as dragging Sakiko in to hell with her

They hid the guillotine motif in plain sight in episode 1 and there's many more interesting visuals that appear in this montage of their play

So I've been thinking way too hard about Ave Mujica as I caught up and have some schizo theories that read too deeply in to all the symbolism, lyrics and motifs.
