Giving YouTube Premium a go. I'm especially interested to see how it will compete with Spotify as my go-to music player. One of the early takeaways is how much you have to feed an algorithm just to get software to work for you these days. #music #apps #applications

Seeing this news really makes me wonder if the further consolidation of the film industry will make way for other "indie" players to play a greater role. Seeing services like @letterboxd.social and Mubi step into the gap is really encouraging!

Saw content yesterday that said @letterboxd.social was creating a rental component to their service that would allow you to rent films that are not yet distributed. Love this!

It's seldom that I would sing the praises of what ostensibly felt like a cost-cutting measure of the electronics industry, but I really love being rid of the e-waste of single device chargers. Yes, I have a couple around, still. But I LOVE having a multiple device charger that I use daily.

One of the things I truly appreciate about Chipotle is the soda water they have on tap. I’d like this option EVERYWHERE!

Has anyone else found that they are using Google Chrome to primarily access Google services on desktop, but use another browser for other tasks?

Thinking of switching to a Pixel phone for the enhanced messaging support on Windows. LOL!

Even after all of these years, I wish that Windows would bring back the idea that programs could bake dynamic widgets into shortcuts (like in Windows 8) that also launch programs straight from the Windows Desktop.

It's interesting about curating a collection with both vinyl and digital products represented. Release format and quality of release are definitely both factors. However, with so many formats, it would be nice to have a standardized database with release pedigree more of a factor, as well.

My review is that these recordings feel 10% better than a CD. I do really like them, and would love if there were a way that we could get a 24-bit CD Player and a new 24-bit CD playing standard. But I'd also love more reference-quality SACDs widely available.

I'm lucky enough to have a SACD player with some SACDs available to me. Without having done any real scientific testing, the sampling frequency on SACDs really renders quite a bit more detail than the 24-bit streaming versions of these recordings.

Really interesting getting the "lossless" upgrade to my Spotify account. Definite improvement to many of these tracks, but it also shows some of the cracks in 24-bit, 44.1 kHz sampling.

The found footage and cinemafile ephemera that runs before each showing @alamodrafthouse.bsky.social is worth the premium price. Honestly, it is a show unto itself!

Also, I've noticed that Instagram is the best at AI captioning, but that TikTok and CapCut both beat out edits at ID'ing words.

I've done no study on this; however, I've noticed the AI captioning feature in Meta's "Edits" app to be worse and recognizing my words than in Instagram. I wonder if they are using different engines.

Checked out Werner Herzog's "Aguirre, the Wrath of God" last night. I feel like my praise for the film feels outweighs its star rating; however, if you've seen it, you might understand why.

If you're a Local H fan and haven't heard that Scott Lucas has reinterpreted/rerecorded the first album, "Ham Fisted," into a new record called, "reFISTED," it's definitely worth a listen! It's really interesting and fresh!

At the same time, I can't imagine LLMs not monetizing positioning at some point, or inserting ads alongside results. It feels just too accessible to ignore.

The thing is, classic search is a good product. My guess is that there are environmental and cost-savings, as well, as it likely takes less processing power to fuel traditional search.

I wonder if search is going to bifurcate between user-financed AI and free classic search. It seems like an interesting play, at least at first.

I honestly hope they never change Tubi's model. The amount of hidden gems on that service make it like a video crate digger dream!
