Resonite is, is my opinion the best creator's metaverse for the balance of freedom and capability. Second Life too but it is not nearly as approachable and not VR native. VRChat has numbers for social interactions but I feel Resonite has the best balance of everything. Not the best UI though.

I have a lot of theories, but I'm starting with replacing the battery. Mainly because the power supply circuit is designed so, even when plugged in, you are using power from the battery to run the device. The power supply keeps the battery topped off. A terrible design.

I would love to hop to Linux. I have a laptop with Linux on it for testing the programs I use for work and unfortunately a handful of critical ones either don't have Linux counterparts or fail to work properly through a compatibility layer like Wine.

Yeah, I have done that for a lot of devices that have lost support. It is fine for now but with how broken Windows is getting I worry a future change to Windows will break all old drivers and the fix only exists on the new driver which won't support legacy devices.

It's going to be a spare or maybe I will give it to someone to take a sale away from you. Don't piss off creators which are literally your ENTIRE customer base.

And you know what, Wacom? Just to spite you, I'm going to resurrect my dead Cintiq Companion 2 that I spent over $2,200 for and it died one month after the warranty expired so you were going to charge me $800 for the repair and need over three months to complete.

It's a powerful too that I and many CAD/3D professionals use daily. They should have to prove that continuing to support a legacy device is hindering their business because for a device this simple, they really have no excuse other than they don't HAVE to.

After push-back from the community it entered "extended support" and the latest driver still works with it but it continues to warn that it won't soon. For no reason than it's 20 years old. They have no competition so they can just do this.

There is NO difference other than a slight change to the base. No new features, no improvement to the technology.

They ended support in 2020 for the old model and made the latest driver give the same message that support ended and future drivers won't work.

The image on the left is the original wired SpaceNavigator released in 2006. I got mine in 2007. I still have it too! It's a USB device with two buttons and the NDOF knob. On the right is the SpaceMouse Compact.

Absolutely. Another offender, who unfortunately is owned by Logitech and also owns the patents on this type of navigation device and therefore is the only manufacturer right now, is 3DConnexion.

This charming Panasonic RC-X310 Stereo Alarm Clock Radio with detachable speakers. This one is from around 1982 based on what I can deduce using sales catalogs from the era.

Has pretty good sound for having paper cone speakers. Gotta love the VFD.

I had a Huion Kamvas 22 which was quite nice. I gave it to my housemate when I got this broken Cintiq 27QHD and fixed it up. I gave Lavender my Kamvas 16. I'll likely get an XP-Pen as their new large displays look VERY nice.

This is a modern professional tool. It's not like it uses a serial interface or requires special hardware to work. It's USB 3.0, HDMI and DisplayPort.

This is very clearly a "people are not upgrading" tactic under the guise of "we are making the driver better by removing legacy code!"
