The GOP passed a budget that will eviscerate health care in rural areas. They delayed much of the impact for after the midterms, hoping the public will think any discussion of the impending collapse is hyperbolic.

The fiscal conservatives in the GOP just added $4 trillion to the deficit to give the wealthiest people on earth a tax cut. The pro-family party just took healthcare away from 17 million Americans to give ICE a bigger budget than Brazil’s military. The single most inhumane bill ever passed.

This bill is an act of war by the billionaires and their white nationalist allies against the people of the United States.

It will take health care from millions of people to fund tax cut for billionaires, secret police to arrest the President’s critics, and concentration camps.

It’s fascism.

AOC is exactly right; we're going to see ICE used to fill concentration camps with immigrants and opponents of the regime.

It's going to happen on an industrial scale that's in line with examples we associate with the worst regimes of the 20th century.

Sharp new response from Zohran Mamdani, hitting back at Trump's threats:

"His statements...attempt to send a message to every New Yorker who refuses to hide in the shadows: if you speak up, they will come for you. We will not accept this intimidation."

The more I think about this statement the more remarkable it is. Zohran Mamdani is basically saying: If you threaten immigrants with your secret police, you're threatening all of us. Very solidaristic. Dems can learn from this.

They want people to die. They think those people deserve it.

They're *betting* that five decades of respectability politics means that they'll do it *quietly.*

The "misinformation" in question here is that gender-affirming care reduces suicides among youth. It merely reduces depression, anxiety, self-harm and suicidal ideation.

Meanwhile, the people passing these laws constantly make false claims: 80% of kids detransition, teens are getting hormones for identifying as rocks, minors receive surgeries without their parents’ consent. Laughable!

These are people that *you admit* are banning care that helps struggling kids.
