Others have posted as much already but a lot like last winter - NM and really much of the Rockies are well behind in snowpack for the season. The snow earlier this month was good but failing to stack up snow events has really led to minimal snow pack. Thanks La Niña. #Nmwx

Okay #NMwx we can stop with this insanity of way above normal temps for December. These departures from normal temps are ridiculous. Seriously. 23° above normal for ABQ on Saturday? Make it stop.

NCAR is quite literally our global mothership.

Everyone who works in climate and weather has passed through its doors and benefited from its incredible resources.

Dismantling NCAR is like taking a sledgehammer to the keystone holding up our scientific understanding of the planet.

It finally happened: #Albuquerque just had its first freeze of the season, breaking the previous latest first freeze date by a huge *4 days*!
I put the two tables side by side (1892-2025 and 1892-2024) here so you can see how this new record has nudged the late-season historical percentiles a bit.

It continues to be a record warm start to November in Albuquerque. Sunday was our first below average temperature since late October. So far this month is a whopping 7.7º warmer than average, and 1.2º warmer than the next warmest start to November. #NMwx

As a grad and fan of Texas A&M football, really enjoying this 2025 season so far. Did not think the Aggies would beat LSU like that in Death Valley. Got a bye week to get ready for the final third of the season. Feels good to be a Texas Aggie.

Prepping for an uncertain and possibly intense few days. Priscilla and, if it forms, Raymond look to hammer the southwest. My area of responsibility ends with, but includes the Rio Grande. I feel for the forecasters just to my west, but this is too close.

That's a wrap on the 2025 monsoon season. ~75% of New Mexico ended with near to above average rainfall! Some mountain ranges picked up >20" of rain! Northwest New Mexico missed out on most of the monsoon this year with <50% of their average rainfall.

Hiked the Tres Volcanoes trail on the west mesa. Could see several storms. The development over the Sandia Mtns was fun. This storm became a severe storm on the east side. #NMwx

My story. Lived 10 years growing up in New Orleans LA. Family moved to Danbury CT area in 1984. Just over a year later I experience my first hurricane - Gloria. Figure that one out. Remember being out of school. Power out, branches/trees down. My 11th birthday party on the 30th was pushed back.

And after a bye week. Had 2 weeks to get ready. Defense did. But the penalties on offense at home just killer. And 1 bad pass on a high percentage play. Just tiring every year.

This weekend will likely be our last taste of the monsoon this year. Widespread showers/storms are likely Saturday and Sunday. Heavy rain is possible with some places picking up over 1" of rain through Monday. The monsoon is going out with a bang! #NMwx
