3/3 Punishing those with serious illnesses like cancer by cutting their health care will only lead to worse health outcomes and increased costs. @acscan.bsky.social urges the Senate to reject these harmful cuts and stand up for those who depend on #Medicaid to survive.

2/3 The bill accelerates implementation of work requirements to Dec. 2026, putting vulnerable people at risk of losing coverage in critical moments of their treatment plans. The majority of recipients who can work already do & work requirements have repeatedly failed in states. This is unacceptable.

1/3 The House passed a bill cutting Medicaid funding by an est. $715 billion. If approved by the Senate, these cuts will raise health care costs, negatively impact state budgets & deny affordable, quality health care to at least 8.6 million people according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Senators: Reject cuts and protect Medicaid
ACS CAN is the leading cancer advocacy organization that is working every day to make cancer issues a national priority.
Early this morning, the House passed a bill that drastically cuts #Medicaid and will lead to at least 8.6 million people losing their health insurance. Health care costs will go up for many who remain insured.
But the fight isn't over yet. Urge your Senators now to reject cuts and #ProtectMedicaid:

Bar chart titled "More Than Half of Adults Say They or a Familial Member Have Ever Had Medicaid Coverage." It compares the percentage of total rural residents, Democrats, Independents, Republicans, 2024 Harris voters, and 2024 Trump voters who have ever had Medicaid, a family member covered by Medicaid, or a close friend covered by Medicaid. Data sourced from KFF Health Tracking Poll (Feb. 18-25, 2023).
New KFF polling finds more than half of the public say either they themselves (18%) or a family member (35%) have ever been covered by Medicaid.
An additional 13% say they have a close friend who has ever been covered by the program: on.kff.org/43uvXb5
