New📄in @thelancet.com oncology: The US does not have a comprehensive national health insurance plan. Instead coverage is derived from a patchwork of various federal, state, & local policies. This system stymies access to care for ~11M #undocumentedImmigrants currently contributing to the US economy.

The majority of recipients who can work already do & work requirements have repeatedly failed in states. This is unacceptable.

If approved by the Senate, these cuts will raise health care costs, negatively impact state budgets & deny affordable, quality health care to at least 8.6 million people according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Early this morning, the House passed a bill that drastically cuts #Medicaid and will lead to at least 8.6 million people losing their health insurance. Health care costs will go up for many who remain insured.
But the fight isn't over yet. Urge your Senators now to reject cuts and #ProtectMedicaid:
