A Cinderella pumpkin with a crease where the fruit split. The support that help up the heavy squash left what looks like a thong-shaped tan line on the 2 cheeks of the produce.

My cheeky pumpkin says hello.

In the forest, among the trees, thats what feels like home to me. Draped in gowns of moss, glowing green, they radiate a warmth thats inviting. Below a vibrant blue sky and cotton clouds I wander admist these humble giants. Gazing up at their majesty, one cant help but feel connected to something bigger than themselves.

A long, light green squash wraps around my wrist. The long neck drops toward the floor for about 3 feet. The squash ending in bulb.

🌱 picked the last tromboncini.

About 20 ears of corn ranging from white to deep maroon and very small to large. Called the Bloody Butcher variety, it ripens to colors between orange and a deep red. This is a dent or flour corn. Mature kernels get little dents in the center. Excellent for polenta.

🌱 My first year tending corn for seed and meal. I've got everything thing from milk corn to mature ears. The immature ears are going into a corn chowder. Heirloom, open pollinated is the bomb!!

OMG! Where did you find this variety? I've been hunting scented geraniums for ages.

Small, leaf green caterpillar with black spots that look a bit like eyes, filled in with yellow. It's about 1.5 inches/3.8 cm. Resting on a celery leaf a bit darker than the caterpillar.

🌱 I found 2, black swallowtail caterpillars in my garden today. They are on a celery plant. Rat away, little ones! I'm happy to share my celery.

New, unknown fungi in a garden bed. What species do you guess or know? (3 photos of yellow, bumpy fungi by green plants & bark. Some small ones look like finger tips, medium ones are more cone shaped mushrooms, the largest have wide caps and faded color. All look fuzzy with small protrusions.)

🌱 My first Bennings Green squash of the year. NorCal is having a cool summer over all, so things are happening slowly out here. A small head of garlic for scale. The light green, fluted, flattened, round squash is about 12 inches/30.48 cm across.

An A-frame trellis (made from mattress and bed frames( shows beans climbing up the trellis fabric about 2 feet. A couple squash plants are on one side.

🌱Desert beans update: they get a but of water every 10-14 days. This variety won't bloom and produce if over watered. There are blooms and some baby pods sets!

Apple update. So far the seedlings have their first set of leaves. Come back in 8 years...😅 Small terracotta pot with 2 sprouts in it. Each one had 2 cotelydon leaves and the beginning of 2 plant leaves.

🌱 Today's posey. A white vase, with multiple openings in the shape of an anatomical heart. It holds 3 colors of roses and a few sprigs of feverfew.

Native plant nerd says: California Dog Rose and also our Wood Rose.

I think I got lucky as I'm an inconsistent gardener. I did buy really good starts for that batch. No doubt that helped. I read they are good co-plants with potatoes. And we have SO many if those...

I took mine up a couple weeks ago. Now I have minced, frozen garlic! Thanks to zone 9B I replanted the biggest cloves.
