I have never understood the appeal.

This law school just created, by its bad conduct, a teaching moment for all law students. That what's "legal" (although it's really not) is not necessarily ethical, moral, humane, respectful, or historically accurate. Also that the erasure of Black history continues at full tilt, as it always has.

She EARNED that spot with her skiing this season. She then aced the full-course training run. In the race, she hooked a gate with her right arm. No skier, female or male, can land sideways at 60mph and recover. It had nothing to do with her knee and everything to do with being a competitor.

I feel the same about the shit Simone Biles took for protecting her mental and physical health. Everybody's got an opinion about how top women athletes should be "making way" for other people, for the sin of having human bodies that sometimes fail. These women get to make their own decisions.

Lindsey Vonn has three Olympic medals, qualified for this team like everyone else, and was medically cleared to ski. It's sad it didn't work out. But people shitting on her because she supposedly "took someone's place?" Typical b.s. against an "older" woman who did the work and took a chance.

Of course, when I say "baggage," absolutely nothing that should sink him in comparison to the president. But we all know what world we live in.

He's not Obama. Now Warnock, otoh. But he's got some baggage.

We shouldn't hate him. For Georgia he's a g.d. rock star. But being a winning Dem in Georgia requires a necessary centrism people may not be in the mood for when the time comes.

But she's just a (voluntary) cog. JJ is right that the episode is, rightly, really about the policy and culture of cruelty and lawlessness that our immigration "enforcement" agencies are enacting. And mostly always were, now it's just wildly and purposefully ramped up.
