The Typical College Student Is Not Who You Think

Anytime I talk with someone over the age of about 30 about the lives of college students, they make a whole bunch of wildly incorrect assumptions. Here’s a useful (partial) corrective.

My brother in law is an academic specializing in intersections of literature and early film, and he says “he was no Rudolph Valentino but maybe some women were into that.”

Certainly it’s hard to tell when the ones with the megaphone are doing her own projection and when they’re playing on that of their audience.

When you look below surface, right-wingers’ judgments of other people are projection all the way down.

In my experience, everyone above the department chair level at US universities is a careerist who believes that the mission of the university is to make them important and wealthy.

This is a badly researched article for not mentioning the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924 or anything that happened after it.
