As a fan of necromancy, that's not completely true.

You can animate their bodies to attack the player. Or chain their souls and deny them their afterlife unless the PC does what you say. Or even offer to raise them from the dead in exchange for the PC's eternal servitude!

So I looked this up, and now I want to read it.
