What Now? Hamas is still labouring under the delusion that it can destroy Israel within 10 years, so there'll be no ceasefire. The war will continue until no building remains standing in Gaza, then the surviving inhabitants will be 'persuaded' to leave.

The chances of any of the Israeli hostages being released (rather than freed by the IDF) are, sadly, minimal. Hamas will always demand terms unacceptable to Israel.

These were the views of prominent members of Hamas just prior to the start of the war. Do these sound like people prepared to accept the 1967 borders?

Netanyahu's government has one overriding responsibility – to ensure that there never can be another attack on Israel from Gaza. If Hamas won't surrender and the Gazans won't overthrow them, Gaza must be eliminated.

Rich immigrants bring money *into* the country and spend it. Hence they make a positive financial contribution.
Poor immigrants take jobs from the local poor and send money *out of* the country. They are thus a financial drain on the country.

I agree with your point about concentrating on those women in genuine hardship rather than trying to get compensation for all, which is a lost cause.

Precisely. It was very widely publicised and discussed in the media because it affected so many people. How anyone living in the UK at the time could have missed it is beyond me.

Their knowledge isn't important though, in the same way as ignorance of the law is no defence. It's also impossible to assess.

Recent immigrants should be made to drink eight pints then go dogging to experience proper British culture.

When MAGAts get skewered:

Precisely. And when those changes were announced, they were discussed at length in TV news broadcasts, panel discussions and newspaper articles. Every single person I knew was aware of them.

This was Hamas' genocidal intent:

As a boomer, I have no sympathy with the WASPI case. Feminists in the 70s pushed for equality, which not surprisingly also means equal retirement ages. The age increases were well publicised and should have been planned for. "I never read a newspaper or watch the news" is not an excuse.

The war was purposefully started by Hamas, which hoped that the Arabs would rise up and massacre the Jews. That didn't happen. The current famine is a result of that war and could be ended instantly with Hamas' unconditional surrender. Why is Hamas putting its people through this suffering?

Actual quotes from Hamas leaders are an "immature meme"? F*** right off, you terrorist apologist.

I answered you already. The job of the Israeli government and the IDF is to ensure that there is never another attack on their country from Gaza. It's *up to them* to decide how they do that *and up to Hamas* to decide how many of its own people it's prepared to see 'martyred'. Goodbye.

It's a war that Hamas can end by surrendering.

As for "Claiming that it’s the fault of Palestinians just trying not to die", these are the people that those Palestinians in Gaza put in power – people who would happily have slaughtered every Jew in Israel, so don't whine on about poor f***ing Gazans.

Those who left were not permitted to return. The Arabs continued to attack Israel at various times, but lost each time, as Hamas is losing now.

24.07.2025 20:25 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The Arabs started killing Jews in 1920 and continued through the 30s. The Arabs then tried to destroy the nascent state of Israel and slaughter its people. Those whose villages attacked Jews were expelled but those who did no harm were allowed to remain, hence 21% of Israelis being Arabs.

For the avoidance of doubt, I'm OK with WHATEVER the army of a democratic state needs to do to eliminate the terrorists who attacked their country. If Hamas decides it's willing to sacrifice the entire Gazan population, so be it.

You're right. It began more than a century ago (1920), when the Arabs first started attacking the Jews.
