This proposed law would also clarify that the state inspector general has the authority to investigate “anytime” local, state and federal officers who use deadly force.

IOW, any lethal force would be automatically subject to state review. No pussyfooting with the feds.

This proposed law would outlaw out of state guardsmen from being in the state without the governor’s permission. That’s not about loyalty.

I haven’t seen other state Dems talk about banning out of state guardsmen. CT might be the first.

This is really an instance of a very longstanding trend where secular pundits end up unwittingly aligned with fundamentalists in treating the crudest and most extreme version of any faith as the genuine article and everything else as somehow inauthentic.
