Employers 'worryingly' ignorant about stress risk assessments Employer awareness, understanding and compliance with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) stress risk assessment requirements remains β€œworryingly” low.

And I’d love to see a breakdown by sector. In particular, cough cough, higher education

I received a gorgeous email from a student while I was on leave, with talk of how asynchronous formats and materials benefitted them. Higher education is largely built in a way that assumes that people have no prevailing health needs, caring responsibilities, full-time work to sustain studies, and the list goes on! I’m so proud to teach distance learning in a way that offers a blend of synchronous and asynchronous teaching, because being truly inclusive involves giving a choice.

Higher education as a whole needs to be way more considerate of asynchronous, silent learners. Non-attendance to live lectures does not automatically mean non-engagement, and that bias needs to challenged. A group classroom environment doesn’t work for everyone, and that is okay πŸ’œ

A bit of a LinkedIn rant from me. I’ll get on my soapbox all the time about good asynchronous options for higher education students!

Absolutely! I also thought it was great that you talked about the tokentistic data collection around wellbeing too and abandoning it, and then those who try to address working conditions have to wade through the cynicism this causes!
