Was Gil's attachment to Andruil one sided? Did Andy have genuine care for her, or simply use her? Some of Gil's writing displays tendencies associated with grooming (iemotional manipulation, the question of if Andy and Gil hooked up and how problematic it was I leave you to ponder in your own time.)

Gil'hinain's writing shows a clear dichotomy between her past and present selves. It makes me really wonder what Andruil's role in her becoming an Evanuris was. Gil was clearly close to her in a way that was recognized by Elgy, he tells her to take time to mourn for Andruil

Elg'ernan notably displays care for Gil'hinain on several occasions. He's evil, and only thinks people in his in group are people but that fundamental lack of empathy does not overshadow his ability to have meaningful emotional attachments... just only with other elven super mages.

There are many things I like about this game, and one of them is how the two main antagonists are written.

In terms of their place in the plot Elgy and Gil's writing is fairly simple. But moments where they interact with one another on a personal level are very interesting.
