Usually but if you prefer cards usually you'd buy a starting deck (but thats difficult now with scalping), or the new season of the show. But yeah games are the most common intro.

Pokemon onboards kids all the time, you would just start with the next generation of games if you're curious to give it a go. If you'd like the original remakes of the original games (i know) just re-released on Switch. For $20 you can jump in with the hype but for the original setting.

Puerto Rico is a fantastic game and while I think the community doesn't need to reject the game because of its theme I blame no one for doing so

The re-theme is great but unfortunately it had some functional issues in its first printings that just makes it more difficult to play than it should be. If that has been resolve then I would whole heartedly recommend someone go pick it up.

Back into #CavesofQud. Actually the first time playing since the 1.0 release and I'm loving it again. Managed to solve a little mystery and convinced the Village Elder's muscle to come adventure with me (alas he will fall to a machine gun turret).

Theres more levels to this than an immediate flip from unrestricted Capitalism to coop run industries.

If the government changed the economic model to a socialist one that is still the government protecting people from the economic system. And thats a good thing. I think Democratic Socialism is the best form of government currently utilized. And it has its own take on Capitalism.

This doesn't mean Communism as an ideal is doomed to failure but I would argue we have yet to see a system with much long term success. Systems of commerce and government work as well as the rules allow and enforcement guarantees them.

Communism was also the name used for a system in which a rich political elite exploited the labor of the masses and did very little to support them. Systems are as good as the rules and enforcement they have. You will always have the greedy who will attempt to take from others to benefit themselves.

Not my intent but I see what you mean. Capitalism is not a perfect system where everyone is fairly given what they need or deserve. My argument is that we have had better implementations of it before and I've yet to see a better alternative that benefits most people outside of an ideal.

You are confusing Capitalism as a broad system for our specific flavor where all risk is placed on the poors and all gains given to the Rich. This is not a requirement, its what our leaders have chosen to do because THEY benefit from it. Direct your anger at those in charge (and those funding them)

That's Mercantilism, where there is limited wealth/resources so one must hoard them as much as possible.

What would be a better economic system? And I'd argue thats exactly the purpose of government. A unified system by which to better our lives and protect us from hostile things whether they be from nature or other humans.

And Democracy is flawed because Conmen can exploit the desperation of the masses to put themselves into power. I still don't reject Democracy as an idea but know that our current rendition is flawed and needs a major overhaul.

Capitalism is a broad genre, to say I'm happy in a system where the few steal from the many is blatantly untrue. Our current implementation is flawed and needs to be completely rebuilt but to say any form of capitalism only exists as if it were some pseudo-feudal system isn't true.

Ideologically those who do should fail. But we have state sponsored capitalism. We reward those few by having the many pay for their failures and allowing them to reap all of the rewards. You are correct unchecked Capitalism is a massive problem, we had guard rails and we removed them.

It can be but dickheads doing nothing is again a choice by well dickheads who don't want to do anything and just get money for the privilege. In a system that works the owners should also be working in leadership roles to improve their service and earn their share. Not where we are but the ideal

Greed is not a recent invention, we put rules in place to attempt to limit this because it creates scarcity which creates instability. Turns out its good for business if the poor don't revolt and kill those in charge.

And corporations ripping people off instead of building a profit into their services that leave both parties happy is a choice they're making, not an inherent feature. They could still make a lot of money and provide us all with better goods/services. They choose not to, increasingly wanting MORE.

Incorrect, the whole advantage of civilization vs running around and just vibing off the land was the ability to specialize. I am more than happy to pay a store for a good more money than it cost them to make because its still something i need/want at a price/effort I couldnt have arranged.
