It is not a petrostate but a petro culture - produces 20m b/d and consumes 20mb/d - leaving sliver of exports from shale oil boom now receding. See here open.substack.com/pub/harryben... - agree it is behaving like a petrostate- but it will never be one so it will cede the energy future to others
