i could but i've done stupider shit and i already have plans for how i'd handle all of this. i'd probably be building it off either SDL2 or SFML given that i have experience with both and they both work pretty much everywhere + have good C# bindings

the issue of having to learn an application-specific language (GML) whereas i'd probably end up just implementing JS or Lua with support for C# extensions

maybe i could nudge it to $30 with a set of high quality bitmap fonts and rich scripting support (likely JS because it's obscenely fast and very fluid)

i wonder if i could produce a very nice, high-quality 2D game engine and sell it. like a one time purchase of $20 or so and you get lifetime access to engine updates and such
