Lastly, maybe most consequentially(?!), the Circe island tease at the end completely disrupts some larger canon down the line? Are they going to return to set Reyna and Hylla in motion? Or are their backstories being completely rewritten since Rick knows who they are and where they're going now

Was Chris Rodriguez just there to catch book readers or is he taking a larger/different role in the show? The ending there sets him up to fill the Ethan Nakamura role maybe, but they also could've just cast and used Ethan this season if they wanted that

By book pacing the fight felt too much too soon but the show's been clear the urgency and weight of things has been accelerated. Maybe the verdict depends on the fallout in S03

The battle sequence at the end leaves me with questions. For one, if that's Luke's sword from the books he probably killed like 10+ campers himself there. Tough look for Annabeth if so. I wonder if they felt a big battle was needed to close the season versus the book ending

Percy Jackson S02 thoughts: very well executed. Tyson and Clarisse were handled especially well imo, same with the Percy/Clarisse dynamic. We'll see if they stick the landing with the direction they've taken Thalia in S03
