So I think MTG probably has done some thinking and realized that Mike Johnson + Trump aren't going to help her grow her career. Is she still conservative? Probably very much so. If she's free of QAnon-> good.

I do agree with AOC. Talk is nice, but the most important sign will be MTG's actions.

Eric Swalwell once said he trusted MTG more than Ted Cruz, because MTG is someone who truly drank the kool aid. I do think having a big setback in loyalties and job hopes can make people rethink where they are going. Trump chose Loomer (our shadow intelligence secretary) over MTG.

MTG has noticed women have limited opportunities in Congress with GOP leadership and Trump.

Is it revenge? idk. MTG has been loyal to Trump, but clearly her loyalty is not repaid. Is she closer to the mainstream than thought? She backed McCarthy over Gaetz's efforts to unseat.

1 - Agree MTG's anger over senatorial aspirations contribute to distancing from GOP leadership.

During MTG's social media exchanges with Loomer, I noticed one post where MTG complains that Stefanik had to give up UN appointment, in part because Stefanik is a woman.

I hope the media highlights that Republicans just want to jam the CR through before the public can see what's in the Epstein files.

Yes, I thought Schumer's actions show that the GOP is the real holdout. I keep wishing there was a picket line against Mike Johnson outside his office and in airports

After Trump's 40B bailout of Argentina and 300M ballroom... this is not a fiscally responsible administration.

08.11.2025 06:09 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Well... then the major credit agencies should definitely downgrade the US credit rating. That would send the Wall Street enablers a wake up call.

This shutdown already belongs to the GOP, especially since they won't even negotiate and are holding out against releasing the Epstein files.

Trump-Appointed Judge Rules His Portland Military Takeover Was Unconstitutional Read more here.

And while I'm venting... this goes to a Trump tariff argument.

It's a super lousy argument to say you can't stop tariffs because it's too much work to refund the money. That's like saying you can't stop bankrupting farmers because you can't bring back the farms that were already lost. Just stop now

Like policies where you (deport/detain) a significant population of the workers, causing labor shortages and ruined crops. The scarcity of the product then drives up the costs for consumers.

So yeah, Mike Johnson, factor in the failure of Trump policies.

That said, Mike Johnson's excuse of inflation being inevitable is weak. It's like saying... yes, wood burns in a fire, but there's a difference between a wood fire and what happens when you pour an accelerant like gasoline on it.

Tariffs are an accelerant to inflation. I'm sure there are others.

Well... I admit I'd want a few (established) economists to weigh in. (Economists can have a lot of variance, but I tend to defer more to them.)

Opposition (Democrats and pro-democracy) needs to keep building support

-> get to the demonstrable 3.5% (12M) non-violent mass support that Harvard Professor Erica Chenowith talks about
-> get whatever institutional supports available in place
-> etc.

Opposition has a lot of work to do NOW too.

Vought+Miller have more incentive to act with force NOW
- strongman tactics -> more ICE, more military boat strikes
- secure power because everyone sees NO clear path in midterms
- sneakier/legal maneuvering -> legal fights from so many angles + SCOTUS allies

07.11.2025 06:47 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yes, it confirms some things I've been thinking lately.

For Vought, Miller (and yes, Bannon)
- pressure is on
- Trump is their one-shot
- especially since they're unelected
- Bannon won't be that crazy about Vance because of tech ties
- lockdown white supremacist agenda before party fragments

No it’s important to listen to this. Because then you understand that many of them will do ANYTHING to keep power. Remember Musk got involved in the 2024 election after saying to Tucker β€œif she wins” I am definitely going to prison.

So we need to move knowing that nothing is off the table for them.

The Wildest Democratic Wins You May Not Have Heard About Elections for school boards and public service commissions aren’t as sexy as a governor’s race, but they matter β€” and Democrats swept them everywhere.

It'll be the beginning of a comeback if Democrats sustain and build on the *effort.* The important thing is *not* to slack off, because Vought and Miller will be back and probably pushing to make the most of (existing/remaining) GOP support. They know their window of opportunity won't last forever

(Ellison/Oracle) was moving to TX, then TN. Software companies are a lot easier to move, although they usually start by opening offices, because they're trying to keep it calm. Anything that requires remote work is easier to change.

The secretive donor circle that lifted JD Vance is now rewriting MAGA’s future Chris Buskirk put tech elites in power in Trump’s Washington. His efforts are grounded in a controversial theory: An β€œaristocracy” is needed to move the country forward.

Very telling that oligarchs want to be called aristocrats. On the donors who think they deserve to rule:

I have a better opinion of him because of Liz Cheney. And I still believe she is a die-hard conservative, but she was able to go against party and stand up for democracy. She enlisted her dad's support and he gave it. So if I think better of Dick Cheney, it's because of his daughter.
