Durham is advertising 3-year fellowships (any field). We are very keen to hear from Antarctic/Cryo people who might be interested in joining a great group. The positions come with some travel & research funds. See here for details or get in touch www.durham.ac.uk/research/ins...

New GRL paper on the dynamic nature of Antarctic active subglacial lakes that have boundaries that change shape, grow, shrink, or even migrate. We show stationary lake outlines can underestimate cumulative water volume change by up to ~100% and overestimate lakebed area.

Even a little more on the nose: I received tenure April 2024. Hereβs monthly 2024 miles.

2016 - 809 miles

2018 - 808 miles

2020 - 379 miles
2021 - 665 miles
2022 - 578 miles
2023 - 600 miles
2024 - 627 miles
2025 - 1651 miles
Can you tell I started my faculty job in 2019 and received tenure in 2024? π₯Ά
And today in the @nytimes.com: a fundamental misunderstanding of the marine ice sheet instability.
