It's just insane the degree to which the federal government has simply declared war on a U.S. state. A punitive war with no discernible objective other than to immiserate its people. bsky.app/profile/apne...

@Kasparov63

As I wrote, if you think a massive US gulag is being built just for illegal immigrants, along with a federal paramilitary force as large as the Marines, you're a fool. Billions in unaccountable cash from Venezuelan oil, shock troops, and detention camps. This is not a drill.

ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little to no real oversight.

To be specific, the FEMA camp conspiracy was that the Left was going round up the Right and exterminate them in camps. That was projection. That is what they assume we would do to them because they were already planning to do it to us.

Some day we'll all regret this & we'll hold hearings & rend garments & pledge "never again" & we'll be just as full of shit as we were last time.

If you know anything about the government making lists about people who are politically opposed to they people in charge youd never give your ID to these people

There's other ways to talk to each other that government has no direct control over. Discord already gives everything included long deleted messages to law enforcement with a subpoena. This identity verification matches your identity to things like how you vote and your political affiliation.

At the AI conference, Altman also downplayed concerns about the water datacenters require.

“Water is totally fake. It used to be true. We used to do evaporative cooling in datacenters, but now … we don’t do that,” Altman said. “You see things on the internet, [like]: ‘Don’t use ChatGPT. It’s 17 gallons of water for each query or whatever.’ This is completely untrue – totally insane.”

CNBC reported that “some newer data centers no longer rely on water at all”.

The director of the Southern New Hampshire University office of sustainability, Mike Weinstein, told the Guardian he was skeptical of the argument from Altman and other AI advocates that the power such infrastructure demands is justified because the technology will help alleviate global problems.

Effective Altruist blogger Andy Masley is single-handedly responsible for creating this scoffing line among billionaire tech goblins (notably a bunch of leftist accounts here seem to repeat it too)

Water consumption issues are not just real: they're crippling

It really is fascinating how overt it now is that there are certain - really not controversial - ideas that you aren’t allowed to say on television.

The love I feel towards Twin Peaks isn't just for what it is, but why it is. I deeply value creative integrity that comes from self-love. When you love yourself, it spills over into what you do, and guides you. David Lynch truly loved what he did, the way he wanted to do it, because he loved himself

That’s assault.
Americans need to police the police. This shit ain’t ok.
If you can’t handle your feelings then you shouldn’t be a cop.
End of fkn story.
No one owes you anything.
You aren’t a victim. You’re a servant. And if you can’t do that, then get out. Go find another job. No one gives a fck.

Justice Department withheld and removed some Epstein files related to Trump An NPR investigation finds the public database of Epstein files is missing dozens of pages related to sexual abuse accusations against President Trump.

The US Justice Department withheld testimony that Donald Trump sexually abused a girl when she was 13 or 14 - according to a source who viewed unredacted Epstein files.

This is the worst scandal in US history and should be the biggest news story on the planet right now.

Idk why anyone should give out biometric ID. You need to be 18+ to have a credit card or a bank account or own property or rent etc etc so like that info should be enough.

Not only did Neil Gaiman get away with absolutely heineous SA without any fucking legal consequences he now claims he's writing a new novel. He hasn't published a book since 2013 and now thinks he can just magnanimously drop a literary turd to reclaim our goodwill. Do not support him or buy his book
