Review: I managed this one pretty well. I felt it was scariest at the beginning, but it honestly lost a lot of effectiveness as it went on. Characters didn't really react realistically, and the cryptic nonsense near the end took me out of things.

I think you have scenes mixed up. The “everyone carries out life as normal” scene was after Godzilla’s initial form returned to the sea after his first rampage. Things definitely were NOT business as usual after the heat ray scene.

I tended to like the beginning and endings of each of these movies, but have real problems with the middle parts. I’ve long said it would have worked better had it just ended with everyone dying in the first movie, thus making it into kaiju Moby Dick. Need to do a rewatch though.

Oh hell yeah. I picked up a keychain of her at the recent Pitts and the Pendulum show.

This reminds me, have you watched Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show?

I love Singular Point, but that’s because really bizarre sci-fi is a favorite genre of mine. People who can’t get into really out there theoretical physics aren’t going to enjoy it as much.

It’s certainly my favorite, alongside Shadow Over Innsmouth.

Review: This was pretty fun, but could have been more. It was well-acted and a cool blending of noir and the supernatural. One scene that has NOT aged well did drag it down, but I’d watch it again.

Review cont.: "The Tree on the Hill" stood out as my favorite, followed by "The Trap." "Ashes" was in the middle, with "The Disinterment" and "The Night Ocean" being the weakest, especially the latter, which was rather plotless and without teeth in terms of scares.

Review: After a brief interruption, I finished. I should mention these stories were secondary revisions, meaning another author wrote them and Lovecraft edited/added to them. Still, his mark is definitely there.

Review: Well that was interesting! The experiment into non-linear storytelling was neat, though it kinda left us without a main character. I think I ultimately prefer The Ring, but this was worth seeing.

I would say yes, as there’s been werewolf media where you transform into half-wolf form and then are permanently stuck that way. See Bloodborne and Ginger Snaps.

He would find it more useful to watch Ultraman.

Out of curiosity, what was the third one?

A chase in progress from Call of Cthulhu. Several horrible monster miniatures are in pursuit of some hapless investigators.

Post-Game: Welp, we ended up with one death, and funnily enough on the last roll of the game. But the adventure turned out as great as I thought it would be and we got a really exciting chase out of it.

One of my favorite Vincent Price performances and one of Roger Croman’s best movies.

What are the origins of REH creating Solomon Kane? His stories feel very different and he feels like a very different kind of hero to Howard’s other works.

Review: Feeling like a combination of The Shining and The Omen, Amityville Horror fails to be as scary as either of them and, to be honest, suffers from all of its ideas having been done better somewhere else. It also runs too long and is too unfocused to really be effective.

Review: I've long held the original Evil Dead as the scariest and the accompaniment of live music actually made it even more frightening. I think this viewing might have solidified it as my favorite entry in the franchise overall. May need a rewatch of Evil Dead 2 to settle on that.
