Update for clarity: the encampment was cleared. They were housed elsewhere. Don't know those details.

It was up to $1k per month, not 2. Still, the program was pretty successful.

There was a big encampment near my work that directly housed and gave people $2k a month for a year, or something like that. Vast majority were out of homelessness after the year was up.

It's very bad with homelessness, but there are some shining wins occasionally. If they funneled the money away from the police to help it, we'd be in a better place.
