"π‘ͺπ’π’ˆπ’Šπ’•π’, π’†π’“π’ˆπ’ π’”π’–π’Ž" I write, therefore I am! Have been published many times over in trade pubs, but I want to follow my dream... write fun and interesting stories (and books) that end up being movies! The dreams need to begin somewhere!

They say that you cannot take riches when you go,
No worldly thing that you have come to love and know.
But when my story ends, and my last breath is spun,
Please let me take my mind when all is said and done.

I dream when my bones are old & start to ache,
A different kind of new retirement I will make.
Not in a rocking chair, but somewhere far from Earth,
To find on the quiet moon a 2nd, gentle birth.
Where gravity is kind & lets an old frame leap,
While all the sleeping world is far below, & deep.

But of all things this special place can be,
The very best is my dreams are truly free.
Here, I can build a ship & sail the starry seas,
And ride upon the soft and solar-breathing breeze.
I travel past the suns that burn so fierce & bright,
And paint my thoughts across the canvas of the night.

It is my secret home, my safe and quiet space,
With no one there to judge the tears upon my face.
Within these private walls, my voice can rise and shout,
And no one else can hear the feelings I let out.
I can be sad in here, and let the sorrow stay,
Until it is prepared to gently float away.

Poems are not something I feel like I master, so I keep trying... my latest...

Title: Where I live.

Some people live in houses made of wood or stone,
With rooms and halls and windows to be shown.
But the place I live is hidden deep from view,
A world inside my mind, forever fresh and new.

Welker to Lindsey Graham as he pushes baseless conspiracy theories in an effort to gin up a scandal about Obama: "Are you trying to rewrite history to distract from the Epstein matter, senator?"

Just curious why this account poses as a BlueSky sponsored service?

Amazingly, the interface is open to anyone that has the knowledge to make use of GitHub.

Admirable, but you are NOT BlueSky, so why not be forthright with that fact?

What the fuck did she think would happen, voting for Trump, as a woman? And how in the hell is this the Democrats' fault?

Get a clue, Kat. You brought this shit on yourself and your female constituents.

Iconic writer Kurt Vonnegut's simple graphs show how to write the 3 stories everyone loves "There's no reason why the simple shapes of a story can't be fed into computers.

Not sure if this was done as satire per se, but it does reflect the simple formulas for stories. Just something fun and thought-provoking.

Thank you for your posting.

The information is insightful, and I do appreciate it.

But, just to be clear, I was not making any judgement on the man's character. My commentary was strictly on his insights of AI.

I definitely would not want him as a boss.

Being anti-AI as I am (was?), I have to say that this opened my eyes a bit more. Until I read the post that got me here, I had just not considered collaborating with AI at all.

Watching this Mustafa Suleyman video gave me pause.

Microsoft is still the evil empire, but I do like what he had to say.

The more I think about this the more it troubles me.

X lost me because of how hostile the environment became. I'm not so much into politics either, and there seemed to be a lot more of that than I was looking for. OK, so I was not looking for any!

Maybe BlueSky is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Note: @rahaeli.bsky.social is a bully.

Been reflecting on discussions around "follow-farming" and the data used to support related claims. It's so important that the research we cite is robust and based on real-world analysis, not just simulations.

I disagreed and earned this label.

Interesting perspective.

I admit that I have been anti-AI, but have not considered the more collaborative aspects that it can be used for. My writing is my own and I would never want that taken away from me.

The most appealing aspect of what you wrote is assuring you do not send an evil message.

Because it is something that I would buy (simpleton logic...if I would buy it, someone else would buy it!).

It is a book of 500 writing prompts. I thought about 365 to make it a year, but then I thought maybe they will not like them all, so maybe I need to add more... so, 500!

Opinions???

I am not an artist (I love to write!), but the images I need are a cat slinking around in the shadows like a ninja (inspired by a real cat... that IS a ninja!). πŸ˜‚

Figured this would be ideal for a father daughter kid book! Split royalties...everybody wins!

My kid is an aspiring artist. Works for me as long as it is something she loves. Seriously!

A long while back, I came to her with plans for a kid book... her answer was, oh, those are too hard!

She came to me and said, I can do those now!

Gave her a list of what I need (a doz. images).

NOTHING!

So, I followed-up on the suggestion to find local writer groups.

Found one that appears to be large (ten chapters), but the update of their Web site leaves something to be desired... no contacts (yet)... bad email addresses, but I keep trying! πŸ˜‡

Web site might be something I can help with! 😎

Although I have used MS Word exclusively, I have encountered an issue where my lapse at the university has caused my license to expire.

I used to have Office installed locally (purchase), but one of the upgrades apparently did away with that. 😑

Any thoughts on using Google Docs from now on?

I must have fat-fingered the search when I looked before, but today I found two local groups... One that has ten chapters across the state and one in Facebook... wrote to both... now, anxious to hear back! 😁

The literary agent enjoyed the story, was very encouraging, and suggested my story would make an awesome episode in the Goosebumps series.

The agent seemed to vanish off the face of the Earth (died?), which left me encouraged but also not knowing what I should do next.

As soon as he stops telling the story, everyone transports right back to where they were. One of the kidnapped people makes a suggestion to him that he tries, and it makes the transport permanent... which is ultimately how they escape.

Years back, I made friends with a literary agent (did some computer consulting for him), and he read and critiqued my π‘†π‘‘π‘œπ‘Ÿπ‘¦π‘‘π‘’π‘™π‘™π‘’π‘Ÿ story... about a gifted storyteller that was kidnapped by a group of terrorists, and soon learns that when he tells a story people are transported there, but...

The question is then... what is the best way to find writing groups that might at least be near to me (not extensive driving)?

I live rural which lends itself to farmers and rednecks, but there are four or five city centers that are around 30-45 minutes away.
