Do NOT go to the US if you speak up for human rights, are Arab, or trans.

The US is literally disappearing foreigners, full stop. They will go through the Arabs, the trans folks, and the protestors, and then start to disappear any other undesirables until all that's left is obedient pure fascists.

Your reminder that legislation to curb the rights of trans people to use restrooms or do anything else means everyone's behaviour, clothing etc will be opened up to intrusive and unwanted scrutiny and potential challenge in our daily lives. This is not a 'them' issue. Trans rights are human rights.

This is when "look for the helpers" works for grownups: look for the people who have the experience and are already doing the work. The work doesn't start now, it's been ongoing. Help them. Give them money and let them guide you.

I had a meeting with my dietitian about my upcoming surgery, and I'm extremely squicked out by sentences like "This will be the incision we use to remove your stomach ☺️"

I've used a few different meal tracking apps since I see a nutritionist, the better ones show you things like sugar, carbs, protein etc. MyFitnessPal is the popular one but it keeps bugging you to pay a subscription for the full version. LoseIt is better, but it's more geared towards weight loss.
