Before writing this story for @getty.bsky.social, I thought artists’ signatures mostly consisted of dramatic flourishes at the end of the laborious process of creating art. It turns out that signatures are a much more complex and fascinating business.

Finally watching the beautiful and epic show, Pachinko, and wanted to know what building they filmed in for the 1989 Tokyo office (it’s amazing).

Apparently, every building on the show was built from scratch, drawing from period research, including the pachinko parlors.

Wow.
