Who left all this garbage out here? This is perfectly good trash. Hiking fan & solo game dev making Anza - a convenience store horror game set in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park

Tree-like succulents in the sunshine at the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park.
A sunset with an almost burning intensity along a ridge of boulders and chaparral.
The moon, centered, with a radiant moonbow all around. The bright ring around the moon isn't a lens effect - that was real and visible with the naked eye. It was fucking bright! The moonbow kinda killed any sort of stargazing we had planned, but it was almost as bright as day once your eyes got used to it, which is cool in it's own way.
A 20-second exposure shot on an old first-gen Fuji X-100 camera, taken around 11 pm. The moonlight was so intense and bright in the cloudy sky that it was almost like daytime all night, far enough from the city lights for our eyes to adapt. A few stars peek out, piercing through the cloud and moonglow.
i'm still here, still working on my game full-time, but took a much-needed vacation with my wife last week, and been a lot less online in general lately.
Went to the zoo, went camping and saw a gorgeous moonbow, went to the model train museum, and had a really chill week at home.
You could reach out to Equip, they used a clean-looking version of the art for their album Golfworld a couple years back, and they might have a lead.

If you see them melting down when people push back on their ideas, just ignore all their advice.
needed a lens flare sort of effect for my distant terrain wind turbines. spent some time looking at refs and stuff but then realized I could just draw one in CSP and almost anything roughly shaped right would look good cuz it just needs to add a little "pop" from >2 km away

16.12.2025 19:13 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The starting sketch someone tells the ai to turn into studio ghibli nonsense, or even the text of the prompt itself holds more artistic value in it than the final result.
But these cowards only express anything because they know they can hide behind the computer's plagiaristic imitations.
AI art has never helped people with disabilities create art. It lets people flood websites with stylistic counterfeits of popular artists and pretend it's theirs.
I always defined art as "a person using their skill and imagination to express anything." AI art still manages to fall outside of that.
Super low-poly wind turbines to act as a background prop for my game Anza (matched more or less to their real-world locations), only one mask texture for the red lights, rest is just a flat base color. All animation done in a basic WPO shader using per-instance randomness. #Anza #Gamedev #indiedev

anyway really loving DCSS's forgecraft magic school. It's super fun and dynamic, super-powerful too. Esp on some of the weirder species like Gnoll or Mountain Dwarf that can take advantage of a lot of its' unique mechanics like AC-based spell damage or the multi-school spells
