Under-8 timeout and Pitt is down 62-52. The Panthers went on a 20-7 run to cut the lead to three, but Hofstra guard Cruz Davis keeps scoring and the deficit is back to 10 with 7:28 left to play.

Under-12 timeout and Pitt is down 50-43 with Brandin Cummings going to the line after the break. Cummings has 15 points for Pitt, while Hofstra's Cruz Davis has 24 so far. Still 11:44 left to play, so the Panthers are still hanging in there.

Pitt's heating up. Brandin Cummings has scored 11 points this half and Damarco Minor just hit a long three to cut Hofstra's lead to six at 47-41 with 12:59 left to play.

Honestly might be the most convenient bowl for any Pitt fans in PGH.

Under-12 timeout and Pitt trails Hofstra 12-9. 10 of Hofstra's 12 points have come from St. John's guard transfer Cruz Davis, who scored 17 against UCF earlier this season.

First timeout and Pitt is tied with Hofstra 4-4. Both teams are playing harder and better on defense than they are on offense right now, with 5 combined turnovers and shooting a combined 2-of-9 after 4:39.

That's a good one.

My assumption here is that Pitt will be playing a 9-game ACC schedule in 2026 and this game was dropped to make room for that.

But that's just an assumption, and you know what happens when you make assumptions.

Pitt's previously-scheduled Sept. 19, 2026 game against Wisconsin in Madison has been canceled by mutual agreement, according to a press release.

The 2027 Pitt-Wisconsin game in Ireland is still on.
