Sports betting was the thing that made talking about fantasy teams cool. When the alternative is hearing about your buddy's dumbass nine-leg parlay, getting a solid draft story about how you landed a sleeper tight end is very nourishing

Nah you missed the boat on this. Talking about your fantasy team has boomeranged and is cool now. If you're fighting it, you're fighting 2021's wars

I joined a dynasty baseball league this year. I took over a bottomfeeder and we have the most points in the league. The key to my success is that we have a strong clubhouse culture and do not make excuses despite this farcical injury list

no, i mean, there are a lot of 2 handicaps in the world. he is just not among them

The truth about Trump and golf is, imo, pretty obvious: He is a pretty good player for a senior. He should be, given his unparalleled access to facilities and the fact that half the guys from the PGA Tour in the '90s are his friends. That he's ever won a club championship legit is just not possible

Bigger fish to fry but it's somewhat unbelievable that his people still have to pretend he wins club championships with that swing. Legitimately ridiculous; I can't imagine that even his staff posting this stuff do it with a straight face

It's a testament to @drewmagary.bsky.social that this series has to be at least 10 years old now and has not reached the point of being bad and is, in fact, still good. Keeping a blog format for more than like three years and it not sucking is really hard

i won't say it's the worst loss in baseball history given that it doesn't matter, but it's gotta be in the conversation

Good morning! Time to check how many runs the Pirates were able to win by after going up 9-0 with two outs in the first

02.08.2025 12:00 β€” πŸ‘ 213    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 11    πŸ“Œ 1

this is unironically the biggest thing the pirates have played for in 10 years

9-0 Pirates in first inning

The Rockies are legitimately not believable

the gap between hayes and the next base third baseman is so comically big that i'd say he's the best defender in the game this year

02.08.2025 00:16 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

correct. Hayes happens to be the best defensive player in baseball. his offensive bar for being a three-win player is not high. yet obviously the pirates couldn't get him there

Really enjoyed listening to this one and hearing so many different experiences. Felt very affirming as someone who grew up loving CFB and had my favorite memories in the 07/08 seasons as a Mizzou fan, fell away, and have returned again to it in recent years. SZD continues to do awesome work.

Yes a lot of people watched the movie Juwanna Man and thought it was a documentary unfortunately

A salary cap would have stopped the Pirates from firing the minor league hitting coach who was their only person who ever gave Ke'Bryan Hayes useful advice on hitting baseballs

And that's a real thing that actually happens frequently, in gyms across the country. Rather than a thing people imagine that has happened somewhere between zero and a dozen times in the whole country

This standard is only ever applied to trans kids. I do not see it applied to other kids who hit puberty faster than other kids. I did not see it applied to Derrick Henry, who was built like a car when he was running over future accountants and gas station attendants on Florida high school fields

A salary cap would prevent the Pirates from dumping one of the better fifth starters in baseball, who is controlled for three years, for a 28-year-old lefty reliever
