Pierre Poilievre says he wants to β€œrestore merit.” He needed to be handed arguably the safest, most impossible to lose conservative seat in all of Canada after losing his own seat.

Seems like the opposite of merit. #Poilievre

(oh, and he still refuses to complete a check for a security clearance)

Rob Shaw: NDP moves to scrap second road test without proving it’s safe for B.C. roads Opposition argues inexperience remains a leading cause of crashes

The Province is speeding the wrong direction down a one-way street. Making access to driving easier and cheaper while stripping away safety measures in the name of "efficiencies". This is the opposite of Vision Zero. www.biv.com/news/comment...

Last week ABC's Brian Montague engaged in some seriously unprofessional conduct at city council. This is just a clip of a larger series of interruptions.

This sorts of bullying shouldn't be tolerated in civic business.

Wild. $2.8 Billion less money to fund climate action, never mind schools, hospitals, transit, or housing, and gas prices are the same as a year ago. $2.8 Billion taken from your public services, from your pocket, to boost the record profits of oil companies. Good work all around, folks.

Council just took their lunch break and won't get back till 1 pm, so it will be at least 3+ hours after I got the "call in within 15 minutes!" warning before I speak.

Just another example of how giving weight to speakers at these hearings is deeply problematic--this is not an accessible system!

In the meantime, people are homeless and sheltering in unsafe spaces, we have intersections known to be deadly to cyclists, and it takes over a year to install a park playground. Maybe the bitcoin can wait.

If the premier of British Columbia is posting on a website the same day its chatbot is engaging in antisemitic tropes and saying Hitler would solve problems, I'll point it out.

That's not shaming, that's highlighting what public figures are doing with their time.

One person familiar with the editorial process noted that the Times’ senior editors were aligned on whether to publish the piece, which was read and greenlit by multiple top editors before its’ publication. Others on staff that spoke with Semafor on the condition of anonymity said the reaction to the piece showed why it was important to tackle it.

β€œThe fact that this story engendered all the conversation and debate that it has feels like all the evidence you need that this was a legit line of reporting,” one senior reporter told Semafor.

Times editors: lots of people are yelling at us, so obviously we made the right choice here.

Maybe the fact you are competing with Chris Rufo for scoops should be a wake-up call.
