Let’s dive in 🧵
A GitHub comment that says “Visual Studio Code devs are always positive towards the a11y issues, and their deep understandings of ARIA are, just awesome. I can't work and live independently without Vscode. Not an overstatement, really. Very much appreciated this fix! Please feel free to close this issue as resolved, whenever appropriate.”
I mean honestly, how can this not make me smile ❤️ #accessibility

Here are some of the highlights… 🧵
I’m doing this big migration that needed me to create over 40 PRs in an Azure Repo…
when my script finally finished creating all of them, Azure DevOps kindly sent me over 400 emails from builds that were auto-triggered from opening the PRs lol
Why is it so chatty?
At least making it a little more discoverable

03.01.2025 23:24 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0If you ever thought “I wish VS Code could do this with AI” it can be done without having to deal with API keys and all that.
And if you have an existing extension and wanna add AI capabilities to it, it’s just a vscode API.
Now I realllllly wanna revive my stream!
I’m personally most excited about Copilot’s Free tier now is that it pairs soo well with Copilot extensibility.
I can write a really cool AI-powered @vscode.dev extension in TypeScript and not have to pay a dime… but also my users don’t have to either.

Honestly, I had a very different idea for 2024 back in February…
It was supposed to be a chill year!
…but what you can take away from this is to be veryyyy careful inviting me to your wedding 💒 because I will attend no matter where or when it is.
In 2024: * 58821 miles (94663km) traveled * 96 days of travel * 16 total trips * 12 countries visited * 49 cities visited

This year was a big travel year for me and it was amazing - I am truly so lucky and privileged to be able to do so. These trips were really special:
💒 Reconnecting with family & friends

What will 2025 have in store 🤔
Wild to me that I’m in an industry that talks about AGI…
but if I want a copy of my birth certificate with the city name on it I have to send a photocopy of my ID & a check for $15 by mail to Jacksonville.

Honestly, wouldn't have started these projects without Copilot making it easy it iterate.
Information on #WDoR2024 can be found here which includes several organizations that support road victims:
worlddayofremembrance.org
The timing of this day comes at such an uncanny time… but the reality is, these accidents are happening all the time.
It is absolutely imperative that our streets, especially in major cities like Seattle where I live, are safe for pedestrians and safe for drivers.

… had she taken an ever so slightly bigger hit, she could have been permanently injured, or worse.
It was rattling. I nearly lost my friend. It was all I could think about - and that’s coming from my perspective, now imagine hers - how terrifying it must have been.

Yesterday was World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims… so a quick, extremely fresh, story
Last Thurs, my friend was hit by a car walking home at around 5pm causing a concussion and fractured vertebrae.
Doctors say she will recover… in time, but…
