For nearly 20 months, Palestinians in Gaza have endured a relentless campaign of annihilation.

The UK government must meet its obligations under international law and its moral duty to humanity

These proposed benefit cuts are dangerous and are only going to make things worse.

Yesterday I wrote about how Trump's "flagged" word list might block all of epidemiology, and some people complained discussing this was a distraction from bigger issues.

But I think they're wrong. I think inclusiveness is fundamental to epidemiology, and without it we are dramatically limited.

Time to reflect on our retreat! Devastating for scientists and their research, and everyone who benefits from that research.

I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or β€œpause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.

Trump’s team wants US out of WHO β€˜on day one’

As I said in the piece

I think this would be a mistake

It would leave America without intelligence for future emergencies and weaken our global leadership

We should reform WHO

Not abandon it

Grief Makes Us Time Travelers (Gift Article) A neuroscientist studying memory, I used to believe time was linear. Then my mother had a stroke.

Honored that a piece I wrote made it to NYTimes. It’s about how my mom’s stroke changed my connection to time, science, and nature. What a privilege to honor my mom in Modern Love.

The image contains part of an abstract where the results section uses the phrase "was associated with" and the conclusions the phrase "may be associated with"

Results: physical activity was associated with

Conclusions: physical activity may be associated with

The word associated cannot mean the same thing in both sentences.

This is the appeal of the word associated, it can mean anything you want and no one is going to ask you what you actually mean.
