David, at a friend's house, Catskills, 2007. We'd a nice time that weekend. There's a pic of our Duncan from that weekend where David told him to give me a kiss & he did. He'd never heard that command before but somehow knew what it meant. Love this picture of David. I miss him every single day.

I had a couple of my favorites visit me in the rehab facility. My Daisy and my buddy's Barkley.

I miss my little girl. It's been 2 weeks since I was last w/her. When I had my hip surgery I wanted to run w/her on her favorite hill. Didn't get that chance. This time, given how long it may be before I'm able to walk unassisted again, & it being winter, I worry I won't very get to walk her again.

Wishing you a quick recovery. Followed by ice cream!

Right! Did not anticipate ice on the steps. It doesn't help that it was those ridiculous plastic boards used to construct outdoor porches, steps & fences. Any water on it freezes as a sheet of ice that you can't really tell is there. Almost always avoid using the front porch. Huge mistake this time.

I'll be in the leg braces for another 5-6 weeks I think. Improving every day, but sleeping in these things is tough. Not to mention walking or toileting. Hoping I can get back home by Christmas.

Bilateral quad tendon tears while going down the front porch this morning. Great way to start the day! Seems like bad breaks are all I'm catching lately.

Good thing I prepped the night before. Started at 8am yesterday w/pie. Sat down at 15:30 to eat. My hips and knees didn't love it but it was delish. Daisy housed her mash & turkey and Kano tore apart the turkey leg bone. First time cooking Thanksgiving & everyone was happy. David would've loved it.🦃

Experience something similar when I visit my brother & sis, since my husband passed. It's so good feeling at home for a bit but in back of your mind you know it'll be over soon. When it's time to leave, I put up a good front, but inside I'm a mess. Sucks. I hope you've an amazing time w/your kids.
