the heartbeat of the moon or the distinct horror from a solar flare that sears mercury and tans the blood of mars. saturn’s halo cuts like a knife across the stomach of jupiter. render the mother barren; skin stretched and blemished beautifully. a cluster of neptune and uranus screaming into the infinite void, where life ends and begins. a sleeping beast lies beyond andromeda’s rage but, where’s the rest of it? poetry by ellen w. 2024
