We’re looking for someone to help out with our socials! We would like to provide regular updates here and on tumblr (blog yet to be created), and possibly other socials. Happy to report that things are still in the works on this project! We’re still in the planning phase and hopefully will be able to start contacting volunteers to begin the downloading phase.

Hi thanks for filling it out! Yes and no. I contacted some of the people who had relevant experience (like archival work, tech work) to start so that we could plan out how to do this. Hopefully we’ll be able to get a plan in place in the next few weeks and we can start this up FOR REAL.

would love to hear any ideas you have about hosting sites, the best tools for downloading/uploading fics, methods for archiving things like smaus not crossposted to ao3, etc.

I have some ideas for what we could use to house the metadata for the fics like libib or notion, but I’m open to suggestions! We’ll talk more about details soon, after sign ups slow down

Yeah, I have some tools I’ve been using. I use Calibre to download stuff (you can download multiple fics at a time from just the url) and I’ve been using Google sheets just for my own stuff I’ve read, but I’d prefer to get away from Google if possible

This project is open to anyone! Archiving means preserving everything. Any characters, any ships, any topics. Controversial or beloved. Any personal preferences or biases should be put aside. Archiving isn’t about judgement or only saving what we like. We want to save *everything*.

Coincidentally, the creator's name (Ally) is short for Alexandria 😂

Important to note: I am one person with a master's in library and information science. I'm not an expert in digital archiving, politics, technology, etc etc.
