🧵 In August of 1966, Black children in Grenada, Mississippi were still fighting for the right to attend White schools. What happened next was unconscionable.

Thank you to everyone who worked hard to preserve this video. It shows ICE murdered Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse. Watch, save, and share. 💔

This is the blueprint. Pay attention. When ICE shows up, neighbors alert neighbors with whistles, horns, voices cutting through fear.

People come out of their homes. And when the community reaches critical mass, ICE is forced to retreat because occupation fails when the people refuse to disappear.

Don’t shop at Home Depot, Target, or Amazon over the next week. During the busiest shopping period of the year, let’s make our dollars count by refusing to support corporations complicit in Trump’s authoritarian power grab: weaintbuyingit.com/?utm_source=bluesky

This powerful message: “I did the research and found out I was wrong.”

I’m not going to say much more except please take the time to watch. Then send it around to family and friends, no matter their political persuasion.

“You don't need a permit to protest in response to breaking news and you don't need a permit to march in the streets or along sidewalks, as long as you're not obstructing traffic or access to buildings.
When you are lawfully present in any public space, you have the right to photograph anything in plain view, including federal buildings and the police. If you believe your rights have been violated, when you can, write down everything you remember, get contact information for witnesses, and take photographs of any injuries. If you get stopped by the police, ask if you're free to go. If they say yes, calmly walk away.If you get arrested, you have a right to ask why. Otherwise, say you wish to remain silent and ask for a lawyer immediately. Don't sign, say or agree to anything without a lawyer present. If you get stopped by a member of the military or any law enforcement office at a protest, you have the right to remain silent or to tell them that you’ll only answer questions in the presence of an attorney — no matter your citizenship or immigration status.”

The blackout doesn’t have to end today. Commit to spending your dollars locally so they stay out of the hands of mega corporations and billionaires. Follow our boycott guide and continue to support micro economies in your local town or city.
