I've submitted The White Stag (Book 1 of The Red Blaze Saga) to Faber Writing Academy at @allenandunwin.bsky.social to be assessed for their Edit and Submit Your Novel course. This is the first time I've sent the manuscript out into the wild and am feeling the feels. By the gods, hope it's selected.

This month's #FuriousFiction is done and dusted. Quite the emotional one that I had to leave and come back to several times, born from my own fears and anxieties.

Deep into this months #FuriousFiction and I've had to put it aside until tomorrow - it's become far too emotional. Why do I do this to myself? Why do I write such heart-wrenching words?! @writerscentreau.bsky.social these prompts are very good.

It's approaching 45 degrees here in Melbourne. Though I'm working from home (and some sneaky writing between projects), the heat is seeping into the house and the aircon is valiantly fighting to keep the sun's fiery fingers away.

Could be worse...40 (104f) here Saturday, going to be 45 degrees (113f) tomorrow here in Melbourne, Oz. Likely to be the hottest day on record around here.

My melting point is somewhere in the low 30's, so I'm in for a fun day.

Gosh, it has been a while.
Good news is that I found a new role in October and have been working hard since.
Met @misterkristoff.bsky.social again for the EOTD launch, which was hellafun.
And I decided to write book 4 of the Red Blaze saga, because the end of book 3 was too quick. So there you go!

To my friends, acquaintances, and general book and fantasy-loving nerds on the autism spectrum, the news today out of the US that Trump has equated paracetamol use to autism is a tragedy. It has made me angry, sad, panicked and utterly baffled.
I hate Trump and the pseudo-science-believing RFK. 😢

Meanwhile, I've spent the last few days building this whilst watching the three extended #LordoftheRings films. Holy damn those films are still perfection and the set is insanely magnificent.

Instagram is slowly becoming my preferred and hope to expand use as books become published later. Fb is sparingly used for the same reasons as you mentioned. What else would be best for new authors approaching querying?

Was told by my daughter that cassettes are making a comeback. She thought it was retro cool.
