Perhaps as a consequence of online Nintendo culture solidifying during the GameCube era, people still tend to overlook what a huge, monumental thing Donkey Kong Country was in the 1990s. This idea of DK being a B or C-tier brand, or just an appendage of Super Mario, has never really been true.

We already knew Rambi was going to be in Donkey Kong Bananza at some point, but this is an actual remix of Grant Kirkhope's Rambi theme from Donkey Kong 64! This is another indication that Nintendo is really treating this as the second 3D Donkey Kong adventure following the linage of Donkey Kong 64.

So, if people did not know, the series was on ice for so long because the composer, Tsunku, was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer in 2014 and had art of his vocal cords removed. That they made a note of him coming back for this one is actually kind of a big deal.
