Have another interview tomorrow, and bite from the same, but different area. Office work, but with the school district. Clerk vs receptionist.

Was chatting with mom yesterday when Harry the Pom jumped up in my lap. We started doing what we always do, which is telling a story like Harry was narrating. This time, I actually wrote it down. So, I may have just started writing a children’s book featuring our neurotic Pom puppy finding a friend.

My motivation is dried up. My GAFs are zero. Just feel like I’m rotting away. But I’ll put on my usual smile & lie my way through another week. **sigh**

Posted this on FB same day in April, but didn’t survive the Yes Man. 2025 has not been better than 2024. Slowly realizing I have no idea what I want to do. I had planned being there for at least another decade. Now, floundering.

Feeling a little jealous that Houston got snow, and my little town in north Texas didn’t get a flake.

Was sadden to read that Tony Slattery passed away today.

2025 has to be better, right? I’ve been saying this at the end of every year for about 10 years now. The cosmos finds new ways to just twist the knife.

My cousin was diagnosed with lymphoma just before Thanksgiving. We’ve been quiet about it because that’s just how we are. Didn’t think a prayer request on Facebook would out the diagnosis to the world. If the family has been quiet about something, don’t go around shouting it to the world. Geez.

Hadn’t updated in a while because things have been okay. Team lead was demoted, so we now have the yes man in charge. Very my way or the highway. Ambushed me this morning to bitch me out on something old, and it triggered my anxiety. So, gonna just lay low.

It’s seriously workers like her that make me hesitant to apply to manager positions.

Good grief, I told her not to do something and she went ahead and did it. *banging head on table until comatose* When someone says they did something on their work computer that hoses up a program and warns you not to do it, perhaps you should follow the warning!

I know our team lead is super green, doesn’t like to train, and is pressed to give us assignments we need to go slowly over, but good grief, new person, it’s been over a year. Your sourpuss attitude and unwillingness to explore is seriously pissing me off. My patience has finally been worn to a nub.

Because I work from home, I don’t drive my car very often. Last year, I noticed a check engine light & used an ODB reader to see what was wrong. I accidentally reset the computer & have not been able to pass inspection. I tried again today and have officially passed. Car is legal!

If there is one fun thing about Rebel Moon it is seeing both versions of GOT’s Daarios Naharis play opposite of each other. Other than that it is just a poorly conceived mashup of scifi/fantasy tropes. Everyone deserved better than what Zach Snyder gave them to work with, including the audience.

Any time I wonder why I moved back in with my parents, things like this morning happen. Dad left the house without telling anyone. Luckily he didn’t get that far & someone saw him, but It was a hell of a way to start the day. #dementiasucks

Blackberries, raspberries, three out of four root beers (no idea where the fourth bottle went), taco seasoning, and pancake snd sausage on a stick. All this despite my mom willingly offered to exchange our packages. Pizza was delicious, can’t wait for taco salad & smoothies.

This is what we got from our grocery Secret Santa:

Turkey sausage, ground turkey, luncheon ham, four apples, three avocados, a tomato, salad mix, two pre-cut veggie packs for grilling, two pizzas, salad dressing, black beans, tostado shells, apple sauce, peppermint patties, strawberries

Yesterday was fun. Mom came to my doorway and asked me to help her go through her grocery order. Confused yet curious, I followed. She had ordered about $60 of lunch meat (part was dog treats, the other was her treats). They delivered another woman’s groceries. She didn’t want them, 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Oh, no. I’m the one who builds and fixes things, and funds missing items, around here.

I’m currently trying to deprogram myself from doing everything my family tells me to do. It is a slow process.

Teddy loved carrots. Kept his teeth nice and sharp. He didn’t like bones. Bella and Mollie, OTH, hates carrots.

Turkey eaten. Food rapidly expanding. Put up first load of dishes. Dad is tucked under a blanket in front of a football game. Time for the annual post-Thanksgiving lunch nap.

It was a small lunch, but good grief still SO. MUCH. FOOD!

Happy, happy, joy, joy. Unless I royally messed something up, I will not see the boot up screen of the work computer until December. I have taken full advantage of my PTO this year.
