Is "according to the UN" actually just the report that was submitted to the UN, that was not in any way actual research, that just cited those claims from well known anti-trans organisations?
That's not according to the UN. Not that I expected honesty from Rowling but that's transparently nonsense!

Oh wow is anyone doing a block list for the apparent wave of "respectfully disagree" bots, they're super obnoxious and there appears to be quite a few of them.
I wonder what the actual pay off is intended to be for them other than creating noise in any online discourse?

My 2017 Samsung TV also requires this. It says hold power button on remote to force a reboot but it literally doesn't work.
I am specifically going to avoid smart TVs in the future, I'd rather the smart functions in a little box next to the TV via Roku or a Google TV. Tizen was a mistake π€

Events at the 2024 Paris Olympics sadly highlight the inability of a categorical system (weight), additional to sex, to allay concerns regarding participation by athletesΒ purportedΒ to have innate variations of sex characteristics (intersex variations/differences of sex development). Instead, abusive campaigns demonised athletes with long, prior histories of competition β and sought to impose methods of sex determination and classification that are not directly tested or applied at birth, and which do not universally apply.Β I ask if it is ever acceptable to reclassify someone out of their sex determined and classified at birth without their consent. I propose thatΒ women athletes should always be able to compete, without preconditions, in their birth-observed, birth-assigned sex.
The American Journal of Bioethics has just published my open access commentary on sport:
βIs It Ever OK to Reclassify Someone Out of Their Birth-Observed Sex Without Personal Consent? How Do We Manage Competing Methods of Classifying Sex?β

We are absolutely sickened by the Catholic boy's school @StJosephsFTG in Ferntree Gully near Melbourne, witches.
They've been advertising every week on the Kyle and Jackie O show since
August 12th (when we first heard them) which is more than 16 long weeks ago.
And these aren't normal ads, either: one of their favourite promotions involves their own students' voices speaking out on radio about how wonderful their school (apparently) is.
Do these boys' parents know their sons are promoting the school right alongside Kyle and his callers telling young men how to "butcher the pussy"? Do they agree with their sons spruiking their education right next to a woman's pissing competition? Do
woman's pissing competition? Do parents of gay, black and disabled boys know they're spoken about cruelly and horrifically every single day the show goes to air?
Yet despite many witches messaging them, calling them and emailing them to politely ask them to stop funding Kyle's terrible misogyny and hate, the school remains completely unmoved. They refuse to return calls. They refuse to let anyone talk to the Principal or Vice Principal, or anyone with the authority to discuss our requests. They even remove witches' heartfelt pleas to discuss the issue from their social media accounts as soon as they can.
And yet, they claim on their website to care for the welfare and development of the many hundreds of teenage boys in their care. Yet they clearly do NOT.

And yet, they claim on their website to care for the welfare and development of the many hundreds of teenage boys in their care. Yet they clearly do NOT.
They're openly funding the misogyny and bigotry they'd say they disagree with, seemingly without a single care in the world.
We're asking witches today to please contact them over the next couple of days. Further, we're so disgusted by this school we've updated our #VileKyle register so you can complain directly to the Catholic Education Office in Melbourne (since the school themselves are so hopeless), and to assist we've provided a helpful list of their board members and relevant contact details:

You can also still contact the school directly if you wish, and maybe you'll

campaigndata.mfw.org.au/business-direc...
You can also still contact the school directly if you wish, and maybe you'll have more luck than any witch has previously had in getting through to someone who's willing to discuss this issue intelligently:

We're so damn sick of this, witches. If a bunch of so-called Catholics don't GAF what they're funding, then irony is dead. And if a group of teachers and administrators who'd swear black and blue they're educating the boys of the future in morals and ethics couldn't care less about teaching them to hate women and those in minority groups, how the hell do any of them still have jobs?
Please get onto this. And if you know
...
Another day, another pack of dipshits who should know better funding Kyle and Jackieβs hate.
Please get onto this CATHOLIC BOYβS SCHOOL, witches, whoβve been funding misogyny for more than 4 long months.
Letβs go.

It's weird how many of these same people are all about parental choice on some other matters, but then on this one they think it's okay for the government to override the choices of other parents.
It's almost like 'think of the children' arguments are never actually about the children.

A pretty good response to the more detailed election tampering claims lately. Turns out the claims in it were guesses and not based on actual known data, and the author has a history of doing similar. Sooo...

It sounds like there were several Republican senators that were pretty solid in their refusal to support him, so he didn't think he could get the numbers, and many wanted to see the report on him as part of the process.
He quit hoping to be able to bury the report I'd assume.

This is *tremendously* more convincing than the early fraud claims were. If there are overt statistical irregularities I think that is a pretty compelling reason to do a hand count in any areas where such ballots recorded high numbers. Wouldn't be hard to count 'bullet ballots' to debunk or confirm.

And the HRT itself, which they also claim to be dangerous yet has been pushed on intersex kids for many decades. No psych reviews, no asking the child how they feel about it, no checking if it's consistent with their gender identity at all. Informed consent models are *so* much better.

The United States has oligarchs now.
Not merely rich people with more personal influence on politics than poorer people have, but a few extremely rich people closely connected to the national leader who act in government-like roles despite never being elected or nominated to any official position.

It really was a disappointing outcome. So many people misled by misinformation and a ton of 'both sides are the same' rhetoric. I mean, both sides just aren't the same on a bunch of pretty important issues. Lazy rationalisations all over.

Doesn't look like there's any reason to suspect tampering, and there sure are a *ton* of people pleased with themselves for not voting, so the figures (Trump got fewer votes than 2020, Harris just got even fewer than him) don't seem suss. Just depressing.

This is because a lot of people tend to think about disability using the social model even if they don't realise they are doing it. Vision *impairment* is not always a disability in the social sense, though it is an impairment that needs aids like glasses. Disability is *inherently* social.

Politics still exists even at the most local level, so being aware of how it's conducted, and how it's often used to manipulate outcomes is pretty important if you believe in consensus decision making.
It's not just interesting, it's *important* to understand.
