My great grandfather, Hughie Kerr.
World War One.
Courageous. Inspiring. Just a boy.

The project of a lifetime.
Incredibly proud moment to see the opening of the Sydney Swans museum on Tuesday night.
For the best part of 2 years, Iβve been working on the text creation for the museumβs physical and digital spaces. To see it all come to life was unforgettable.
Come and visit.
Pumped to contribute this creative piece for the exhibition pamphlet at my brother Tullyβs latest show at @orangeregionalgallery
Tullyβs exhibition, βHow do you like them apples?β is brilliant. Get along and check it out.
Football clubs are built upon the foundations laid by their forebears. Fortunately, βBertβ Howson was on the tools.
He dedicated a lifetime to the club, serving as a player, captain, committeeman, secretary and coach.

On Brownlow Medal night in 1955, Fred Goldsmith took his shift at the Eastern Hill Fire Station. Goldsmith and a colleague were happily engaged in a snooker game when the intercom buzzed: βFireman Goldsmith to the watchroom please.β
He won. And it changed his life. My feature below:
New year. New goals. New website.
Launching my new website today.
This year, I'm working towards increasing regular contributions, completing my debut book & diving headlong into new ventures. Please come in and take a look. Feel free to get in touch!

It was Bernie Evans' destiny to join the Swans. His passion for the club ran deep from his childhood in South Melbourne, and he never lost sight of his dream to don the iconic red and white guernsey.
Evans described debuting for the club he'd always followed as "A dream come true."
My feature:
very sad to hear of the passing of john marsden.
he was one of the standout teachers through my schooling β in many ways similar to the character of john keating in dead poets society.
the school hated his unorthodox methodsβ¦

Known as 'Sonny', Henry Elms was one of Australian footballβs first champion players.
He is also among the great early leaders, once described as 'the Napoleon of football commanders'.
Elms captained South Melbourne for 10 seasons, winning 4 premierships.
I loved writing this.
Itβs happened again. If youβre βhigh profileβ with an expensive lawyer, you can have your name kept secret. Not if youβre some 19yr old knockabout kid from the Western suburbs, though. This has got to stop.

He played 194 consecutive games from debut - an AFL record.
As a durable, versatile midfielder/defender he played a crucial role in the 2005 premiership team.
My Swans Hall of Fame feature:
John Longmire.
The Bloodsβ greatest coach.
44 coaches have led the South Melbourne/@sydneyswans menβs team.
On average, 65 games each. He coached 333.
In 150 years, weβve played 94 finals. Heβs coached 28.
Most importantly, he cares.
So much.

Have spent a most enjoyable, purposeful day at the magnificent State Library of Victoria.
Think Iβll do it again tomorrow.
Itβs been six weeks, but my Grand Final sorrow remains.
Iβve turned to retail therapy. Iβve visited my favourite store.
Sally Rooney, Richard Flanagan, Niall Williams & Trent Dalton to drag me from despair.
Quick word on my current project because itβs a delight.
Celebrating the 150 year history of the South Melbourne/Sydney Swans, Iβm creating stories that shine a light on the past.
Each week, we feature a Hall of Fame player. Soon, weβll all have a club museum to enjoy.
Hey Bluesky.
