For the best part of 2 years, I’ve been working on the text creation for the museum’s physical and digital spaces. To see it all come to life was unforgettable.

Hall of Fame Bio: Herb Howson As we continue to reflect on the club's 150 year history, which began in South Melbourne in 1874 and then to the Harbour City in 1982, we are highlighting the greats in the Swans Hall of Fame.

Football clubs are built upon the foundations laid by their forebears. Fortunately, ‘Bert’ Howson was on the tools.

He dedicated a lifetime to the club, serving as a player, captain, committeeman, secretary and coach.

Hall of Fame Bio: Fred Goldsmith As we reflect on the club's 150 year history, which began in South Melbourne in 1874 and then to the Harbour City in 1982, we are highlighting the greats in the Swans Hall of Fame.

On Brownlow Medal night in 1955, Fred Goldsmith took his shift at the Eastern Hill Fire Station. Goldsmith and a colleague were happily engaged in a snooker game when the intercom buzzed: “Fireman Goldsmith to the watchroom please.”

He won. And it changed his life. My feature below:

Hall of Fame Bio: Bernie Evans As we reflect on the club's 150 year history, which began in South Melbourne in 1874 and then to the Harbour City in 1982, we are highlighting the greats in the Swans Hall of Fame.

It was Bernie Evans' destiny to join the Swans. His passion for the club ran deep from his childhood in South Melbourne, and he never lost sight of his dream to don the iconic red and white guernsey.

Evans described debuting for the club he'd always followed as "A dream come true."

My feature:

Australian writer John Marsden, author of Tomorrow series, dies aged 74 Marsden, a world-renowned author of children's and young adult fiction, wrote the beloved adventure novel Tomorrow, When the War Began.

very sad to hear of the passing of john marsden.

he was one of the standout teachers through my schooling — in many ways similar to the character of john keating in dead poets society.

the school hated his unorthodox methods…

Hall of Fame Bio: Henry Elms As we reflect on the club's 150 year history, which began in South Melbourne in 1874 and then to the Harbour City in 1982, we are highlighting the greats in the Swans Hall of Fame.

Known as 'Sonny', Henry Elms was one of Australian football’s first champion players.

He is also among the great early leaders, once described as 'the Napoleon of football commanders'.

Elms captained South Melbourne for 10 seasons, winning 4 premierships.

I loved writing this.

High-profile Melbourne man accused of rape wins court bid to conceal his identity The man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman after allegedly drinking alcohol and taking cocaine with her at his home.

It’s happened again. If you’re “high profile” with an expensive lawyer, you can have your name kept secret. Not if you’re some 19yr old knockabout kid from the Western suburbs, though. This has got to stop.

Yes, it’s a pink ball.

Yes, the lights are on.

But, this is the type of Test cricket I’ve missed.

Hall of Fame Bio: Jared Crouch As we reflect on the club's 150 year history, which began in South Melbourne in 1874 and then to the Harbour City in 1982, we are highlighting the greats in the Swans Hall of Fame.

The career of Jared Crouch offers a lesson in professionalism, commitment and a team-first approach.

He played 194 consecutive games from debut - an AFL record.

As a durable, versatile midfielder/defender he played a crucial role in the 2005 premiership team.

My Swans Hall of Fame feature:

John Longmire.
The Bloods’ greatest coach.

44 coaches have led the South Melbourne/@sydneyswans men’s team.

On average, 65 games each. He coached 333.

In 150 years, we’ve played 94 finals. He’s coached 28.

Most importantly, he cares.

So much.

Bravo Horse 👏🏼

They don’t make ‘em like they used to.

Insanely good. So is Test cricket.

Hall of Fame Bio: Daryn Cresswell As we reflect on the club's 150 year history, which began in South Melbourne in 1874 and then to the Harbour City in 1982, we are highlighting the greats in the Swans Hall of Fame.

Growing up playing footy on gravel fuelled Daryn Cresswell’s perseverance & grit.

A stellar career at the Swans was followed by a 10-month prison sentence in 2011. He now mentors young Australians facing the perils of gambling addiction.
