[THREAD] Le bleuet de France, un dogwhistle d'extrême-droite ?

À l'occasion de la commémoration du 11 novembre, j'ai lu sur ce réseau que le symbole du bleuet de France serait d'extrême droite.

Et non seulement cela m'a choqué, mais en plus cela m'a rendu profondément triste. Explications.

They belonged to 2nd platoon, 4th Coy, 8e RPIMa, 4th Platoon, 3rd Coy, RMT and to 2e REP.

Order of battle for the 1st Division of the Korean People's Army during the Korean War. The division would take part in Operation Pokpung, the initial invasion of the South, and the battle for the Pusan perimeter. Eventually the Division would be assigned to the III Corps reserve in 1952 #ORBATboys

The baseline Airborne Tank Company consisted of a Company Headquarters and 3 Tank Platoons with 18 M22 light tanks (experimentally designated T9 and nicknamed the "Locust" by the British). Because the 151st was a separate company it ought to have been augmented because it lacked support from a Battalion HQ & Service Company. In theory this included a Reconnaissance Section, Howitzer Section (75mm Pack Howitzer), and small maintenance, supply & transportation, and medical elements. The Nafziger Collection lacks a detailed breakdown of the Airborne Tank Battalion's H&S Company, but it did have at least 3 75mm pack howitzers or 1 per Airborne Tank Company. This was likely an approximation of the 3 M8 Howitzer Motor Carriages (75mm) and 3 M21 mortar carriers (81mm) contained within the Light Tank Battalion HHC.

Despite the casualties, the battle was overall a success as following this engagement, the Serbs were less tempted to attack UN Forces. It was the symbol that the UNPROFOR would no longer remain passive. 23/23

The French toll for battle of Vrbanja was heavy: 2 KIA & 17 WIA while the Serbs had lost at least 4 dead, 2 prisoners and 4 wounded. The fire from the vehicles against the several buildings certainly produced additional casualties for the Serbs but are impossible to verify. 22/23

By nightfall despite several proposition the situation had not moved. Finally the Serbs evacuated the redoubt during the night and one the French prisoners managed to escape. 21/23

A second French Marine, Private Humblot had been killed by a sniper while he was manning his VAB turret. 20/23

Reaching the western redoubt, with 4 remaining men the Captain found himself face to face with Serbs holding 2 French prisoners at gun point. The Captain asked to Col Sandahl the authorization to start to negotiate for the release of the prisoners and was granted permission. 19/23

Entering the living quarter of the outpost, Lt Heluin threw a grenade that detonated near a gas can. The explosion knocked him unconscious. Captain Lecointre took command of the rest of the force and cleared the building, making prisoners. 18/23

It was around this time that Private Hublot was mortally wounded as he tried to take position on the roof. 17/23

At 8:45 AM, Cpt Lecointre gave the signal and the men fixed bayonets. But nothing unfolded as planned. Despite the support from the vehicles the platoon took s casualties, several men were wounded. By the time they reached the eastern area, only 12 men remained. 16/23
