A gigantic dork, who just happens to serve as an NFL analyst for Bleacher Report and stewards the site's draft coverage/scouting department. What are the best things in life? Family, friends, football, comic books and good beer. It really is that simple.

No. The DB was ejected for a personal foul.

Lower numbers are a relative metric. People get stuck on the overall number when traditional viewership is dwindling across the board (unless you're discussing the NFL). While a fan shouldn't care either way, where the show places during its slot/night is a much better indicator.

Best time of the year for a wrestling fan.

Favorite moment?

First All In. A stadium packed with 80K. It goes black. "Seek and Destroy" starts resonating through the hallowed halls of Wembley Stadium. It's STIIIIIIIING.

Afternoon wrestling here in the US. Enjoyed the show with my son & a buddy. Bit of booze in play. Damn near lost my mind.

What is peak AEW to you?

For me...

Kenny Omega(c) v. Bryan Danielson at the first Grand Slam. The two very best of their generation. 20K losing their goddamn minds before they even lock up. Broadway match.

"Ain't gonna be no rematch."

The Young Bucks regularly hit a stomp off the ropes into a powerbomb. It's also something Styles did with them in New Japan. It's a cool move, but nothing groundbreaking.

What's truly great is that there's something for everyone if you're a pro-wrestling fan. It's a golden era from that perspective.

And that's a great discussion to have, because every promotion has its faults.

We could discuss New Japan right now & it's tradition of great wrestling. Yet the promotion has really struggled to transition & build new stars.

Right now, CMLL is probably the world's hottest company.

It doesn't for me. That's the point I'm trying to make. I find WWE's storytelling to be hackneyed and mostly boring. It doesn't draw me in, especially when most matches don't provide a great payoff.

Love a lot of wrestlers there. It's just not the style I prefer.

01.12.2025 01:56 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Conversely, I can't stand WWE's force-feeding of stories, marginal in-ring work & overreliance on "creating moments" (not even mentioning business side).

I've always preferred athletic aspect, hence why I gravitated toward ROH/New Japan/AEW.

But I understand why people enjoy & follow WWE.

I think we've had a solid conversation and I've been a fan before the promotion officially started. It's all a matter of perspective and being option to discussing points that you may not agree with.

01.12.2025 01:46 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That's opinion. Nothing more.

Personally, I quite enjoy Okada/Takeshita a lot. I loved Hangman's journey to become champ again. Think what KOR did against Mox in a short amount of time was good. Etc.

Honestly, you're all over the place. I can understand not enjoying a product or it not being to your taste. But I think you've been continually off-base regarding the arguments you've presented and then quickly pivoted when someone responds with an answer.

01.12.2025 01:33 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

That's a different argument--to which I agree. The singles titles need to be consolidated or differentiated to a much greater degree.

Either way, that wasn't the original point you made.

01.12.2025 01:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Should he not be when a title is on the line and he talked about fighting every day to prove himself?

01.12.2025 01:04 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Okada and Takeshita's story is best thing in the company right now.

I'd argue AEW has had a strong year.

At minimum, it's been better than last two--we all know the extenuating circumstances.

It hasn't been perfect. But a lack of drama internally, strong PPV contributions & more consistent week-to-week production definitely has it trending upward comparatively.

30.11.2025 23:14 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That's perfectly fine. I'm not saying to agree & enjoy everything AEW does. No one should.

I was pointing out why people get tired of hearing "no stories" or "AEW is only looking for 5-star matches."

Yes, it's a wrestling-first promotion. It also tells stories & reasons behind those matches.

Booking concerns are different than your original comment.

Literally, each example you just provided had storylines leading into them.

For example, Mox specifically stated he "won" the match against KOR because the latter came out injured.

Booking isn't always perfect, but their is purpose.

30.11.2025 23:00 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I'm sorry. I don't know what your show is.

But you stated, "AEW just feels like a lot of generic wrestlers putting on great matches, with no real like.. purpose or storylines."

Am I misreading something??? Because most matches involve stories. Are they always good? Nope. But they're there.

30.11.2025 22:53 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 5    πŸ“Œ 0

Most AEW fans can point to areas where it needs to improve.

It's when others continue to say there's no purpose or stories that it becomes annoying, because it's never been true. It's just a talking point that too many regurgitate to belittle the promotion.

Colts. Receiver literally fell down. No one touched him. It's unbelievable how poorly that call is regularly called.

Pass interference remains undefeated as the absolute worst officiated penalty in the NFL, while doubling as the game's most punitive.

Talk about a non-story.

Cleveland drafted him. If the team isn't willing to give him a chance, something is seriously wrong.

Sanders has six games to prove himself. If he doesn't, the Browns will move on next offsesson.

Tonight, the third Continental Classic starts. It's quickly become my favorite thing in pro wrestling.

We get G1-caliber wrestling, without the trouble of navigating New Japan's app or needing to invest as much time in the entire tournament.

This event is AEW at its absolute best.

Myles Garrett is the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year, and no one is a close second.

I couldn't care less how bad the Cleveland Browns have been this season. There's no one in the league on Garrett's level right now (and most days).
