I say we get our best minds working on building a new system and getting it ready to replace this one when they are done wrecking it by "fixing" it like the ship of Theseus.
21.03.2025 00:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Both rely on the existing system being in place to get anything done.
We need a new peg, and a new hole. Pure capitalism has failed, and the democracy as defined by the founding fathers has failed.
Want to know the difference between red and blue?
Our system is broken to hell because we are trying to fit a round peg in a square hole. The dems are trying to fix the peg to fit the hole, the reps are trying to fix the hole to take the peg.
This is not fantasy, this is the mindset of the people in charge RIGHT NOW. Some have realized empathy, but most are secure in their bubble and some are outright aware and just don't care anymore.
As long as life IN the bubble is good, life OUTSIDE is meaningless to them. But that's our lives.
Oh and education! We all went to school, so we all know how that works. PArents pay for it, you get tracked into the Ivy League, and you come out ready to work. Simple, so why such a huge expense?
14.03.2025 22:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As for veteran benefits, you get that free too! It's a huge boost to your resume for this job! And once you are working, you've got all the rest of that stuff from work so why do we need a department and the expense?
14.03.2025 22:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Food aid? Childcare? Medical care? All of that stuff is free or easily paid for by a little work, so why are we spending so much on it? Clearly it's a personal budget issue and not our problem!
14.03.2025 22:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Social Security? We already have that! We just stay in our job until we decide we're done and we always have a pile of money and influence until death. It's not like we had to be special either, anyone can apply for this job!
14.03.2025 22:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Some things seem clearly inviolate. Defense? Can't risk being attacked! Your own income and those around you? That's just silly. A lot fo the stuff is a mystery to you, having never needed any of it. Some seems downright ridiculous, like all these aid programs.
14.03.2025 22:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Now you have to do some actual work once in awhile, you are the boss after all so you have to sign off on the big things even if someone else does all the actual work. So you are asked to make the job more profitable and are given a list of things that cost money.
14.03.2025 22:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Financially, socially, educationally, everyone is about the same level. So, when you look at life you see a pretty good status quo. If you ever have doubts, everyone you know will assure you things are fine, from educators to family.
14.03.2025 22:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Now add a fully paid staff to deal with anything you have to do so the job really is not that hard. OH, and also, your family has had this same job for generations now. Everyone you know works for the same place and is about the same as you.
14.03.2025 22:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Okay, so to understand why our elected officials keep doing harmful things to the population you need to really get their POV.
Imagine you have a job that pays incredibly well, has perfect healthcare, has lots of benefits and often has insane gifts.
Remember, the ENTIRE military except the highest ranks would qualify for office this way. If they are old enough to train, fight, die, and kill for the USA they are just fine to run it. We trust them with guns and most of our money, but not our leadership?
14.03.2025 02:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ask any Generation X about it, we were the kids of those survivors. They learned the lesson well and we felt it growing up.
It will take a major age change to fix the system. Cap the age at 50 for office, term out anyone over that, and get a government that knows how the modern world actually is.
The average age of death in Vietnam was 23.1. The men in charge sent thousands of their own children to die just to stay in power. Those same men are still in charge today.
They have never had empathy, only greed and lust for power.

I'm sick of hearing "The 1%". Name damn names so we can have a face for our anger!
Here, top 10 in the USA as of 2024:
It's already damn near impossible to get it, they jacked up the age of "retirement" every chance they got to keep YOUR money and bet that you wouldn't get to take it back.
So don't let it get stolen completely!
The fact that congress uses it as a slush fund to pay for their own interests means they OWE you now, not that SS is somehow not "solvent" or able to meet the demand.
It was designed to last and pay us ALL so we didn't have to worry about dying broke and alone in our old age.
Do NOT believe the lie. Social Security is not a "handout" or a "government program", it is YOUR money that YOU let them take from EVERY paycheck you've ever had to pay for your retirement.
13.03.2025 23:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This is the facility I am trying to get into for my kidney transplant. After over a year of trying and doing all sorts of tests as well as dialysis 3 days a week I FINALLY was sent in for reevaluation last month. I'm betting they are not really going to be able to take in new patients for the moment
26.02.2025 14:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is why you fight these cowards.
The moment you stand up to them, they crumble.
Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights.
He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. Heβs got nothing else.
DOGE has gained access to our Social Security system, and now Musk is spreading lies about massive fraud all so we greenlight his taking an ax to everything. I call out his B.S. in todayβs piece: https://buff.ly/3X5uNPt
